Meet the Chef

Russell Chinn born and bred in Yorkshire in the UK, discovered his passion for food at an early age. Being the son of a Gamekeeper shows his love for all things game and traditional cooking. Russell Chinn has been the Head Chef at Cupitt’s Kitchen since 2010. Classically trained in French cooking, He describes his style as ‘elegantly rustic’, focusing on fresh, local and seasonal produce to create full flavours with French/English influence.

    Wonderful food in the most beautiful of settings served by intelligent staff who know their stuff. This is one of, if not the, best rural restaurants in NSW and has been for several years. We love coming here.

    Lovely setting; lots of room for the kids to run around outside while mum and dad enjoy the dining options and views from the deck. Tasting paddle of beers was good, as were wine matches with lunch.

    We’ve been a few times to this great place. The food, the wine, the atmosphere is just brilliant! Either eating inside or outside, you’ll enjoy the beautiful views of the countryside and mountains .

    We have been going to Cupitt's for over 10 years. I can honestly say our lunch on Friday was one of the best we have ever had at Cupitt's. Thoroughly recommend them for lunch or dinner.

    We have been to Cupitt’s several times and always enjoy the experience. The staff are great and the setting wonderful. I was a little disappointed in my meal this time. Although it was tasty and looked beautiful on the plate, I felt it lacked the finesse of past meals, particularly my main which was the eggplant.

    Wonderful food, as always. We loved the grilled snapper fillet, roasted spatchcock, green beans side-dish and a blackboard special dessert which included a fruit sorbet. Perfect service - attentive and prompt without being intrusive. Lovely views to the southwest over the vineyard to Stoney Creek. Must try it again at night with a cocktail and watching the sun set.

    Our experience on the day was relaxing the service was very friendly and professional , the entrées and main meals were exceptional although my partners slice of sourdough bread was not cooked through and was doughy, the deserts could need a little more attention to taste and detail as it seams they are an afterthought.

    We went there for lunch and is was excellent. Great food, excellent wines ( we even bought a few bottles) , the staff was amazing. We took our dog and the staff organised a special place for us outside. Would definately go back.

    Our favourite dining experience visiting the region. The produce was fresh, and the wine pairings were great recommendations to what was an excellent meal with a stunning view overlooking the vineyard.

    The food and service was outstanding, could not ask for better. The only negative was the lack of toilet facilities, with only the inside toilets available to cater for both the Restaurant customers and the outside casual customers and caused a long queue line for the ladies

    We love dining here but the lunch format had changed from: select 2 courses for $XX or 3 courses for $XX. Also, we had to pay for bread which was also a new thing and not a plus.

    Hi, thank you for dining with us again and your feedback. The weekend menu format is still the 2 and 3 course format but the mid-week menu is priced to make it more appealing to customers who do not want more than one course. This is the reason we have charged for bread during the weekdays, as there is a lot of work that goes into our house-baked sourdough but on the weekend it is included in the menu pricing. With sweeping views over vineyards and green fields of grazing cattle, Cupitt’s location is pretty hard to beat. What began as a small addition to a budding winery has turned into a full fledged restaurant that is serving incredible food in a truly stunning location. Head Chef Russell Chinn has created a contemporary menu that has been inspired by local produce and the restaurant has become one of the “must do” foodie experiences of the region. Visit and taste the award winning wines, enjoy a special dining experience and view beautiful country surrounds. Yep, Cupitt ticks every box.
