Food was amazing and staff extremely courteous and attentive, just the background music was a little overbearing. We found a tiny piece of foil in our chicken dish, staff were very apologetic and we were offered free deserts.

Had to ask for fresh plates after entree. Took the used plates and never received new plates. Resorted to taking plates from table next to me. Food was good though.

The starters were quite good (we ordered paneer tikka, tikki chat and pakodas). The main course was ok, curries were good but dals disappointing (both dal fry and dal makhani). In the end we found that their machine was not working so had to scout for an ATM nearby which was another disappointment. Ambience was quite good, and staff were polite.

Service was professional and polite, the food was extremely nice and worth every cents of spending. Highly recommended Goat curry and cheese naan.

The food was amazing when it came but we did have to wait a really long time. Other tables came in, ate and left before we even had our entrees. I think our order got lost and they were really apologetic. I’m sure it was probably a one off and I’d definitely go back for the delicious food.

Had an amazing dinner at Curry Smuggler last night. These guys really know curries. Perfect balance of spices and heat in every dish. Onion Bhajis are stand out. Also had the lamb korma (lamb perfectly cooked) and chicken biryani. It got really busy so you should definitely book on weekends. Service was great, checking occasionally if we needed anything else. The only bad part of the meal was me being so full up of yummy food that I couldn’t manage galub jamun that was on special for dessert! We will definitely be back.

We ordered garlic naan, beef vindaloo, butter chicken and goat curry. All were delicious but I the goat curry had more bones than meat. Overall I would definitely recommend this place for sure!

Honestly, it was pretty disgusting. The restaurant itself is ok but pretty run down and the kitchen/toilets are not a pleasant sight. The food was horrible, meat was tired and dry. Had vindaloo and may as well drank vinegar.

First visit to the Curry Smuggler. Nice restaurant name, cozy setting, serving authentic Indian food. I would recommend the tikki chat entree, nice flavours and it was served promptly after ordering. The wait for the mains took a little longer than expected, the butter chicken was good however the wait was worth it for the goat curry. We were given a nice big serving and the goat was cooked perfectly on the bone. Staff were very friendly, attentive and we recommend this restaurant to anybody visiting Fitzroy for Indian.

Delicious curries full of flavour. Attentive staff, clean environment. We had the lamb rogan josh and paneer buttery curry. Both were delightful! A nice casual dinner.

Time and time again, this place is brilliant. Asked for a hot curry and it had me sweating beads - just what the doctor ordered! Thanks a lot

The entree paneer tikka was very nice. All the naans were soggy and not that great. Briyani too was uninspired. The service was a bit pushy and we were constantly suggested to get something more.
