Sunita – our Chef d'Inspiration. Born into a South Indian family with roots in Kerala, Chef Sunita's early passion for cooking developed in the kitchens of her parents and her grandmothers. Sanjay – our Chef de flavour.Originally from Delhi, Sanjay's grandfather was a culinary expert, renowned for festival and wedding catering. Sanjay would watch him with awe, inspiring his own path to formal training as a chef and a career with a leading hotel group. Together, Sunita and Sanjay have lived in cities across India, exploring different regional delicacies and cuisines, which they now present through Daana's award-winning flavours cooked with immense love and passion.

Their Valentine’s Day menu was really delicious and the portions were generous. The staff were attentive and accommodating. The live music added a special touch to the night, however it was a bit loud for the size of the room and at some parts made it difficult to have a conversation. Other than that, our visit to Daana was very worthwhile and we’ll be back to visit again!

We enjoyed the range of different and enjoyable dishes available which went beyond the "usual" collection available at most Indian restaurants. The chef displays an adventurous and skilled style. Having lived in India, and eaten in Indian restaurants in different parts of the world, we found Daana outstanding. The staff were welcoming and very attentive. We intend to return soon.

All of our dishes were full of flavour and quite delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive and we were asked a few times how the food was as we were eating. A lovely dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary!

An excellent place of innovative Indian food. They have a good general menu, but also have a set meal from a specific different region of India every Friday and Saturday evening. Book ahead for that one.

A fab little restaurant and worth the trip. Approx 10 mins in the car. The meal was divine and the staff were attentive as well as very prompt as well as helpful. Authentic cuisine and enjoyed food prepared and served with pride. Desert suggestions were taken and enjoyable.

Amazing, warm, welcoming host. Fantastic food. A firework of flavors!! We felt very welcome, host gave good advice. I don’t think you can make a mistake when picking food from that menu. Everything just looked incredible. And for really reasonable prices! Couldn’t have been better!

What a great little find! I was looking for somewhere at late notice to take my dad for dinner and stumbled upon this place. The restaurant was very quiet and serene and the food was excellent but the best thing was the very warm and welcoming service. Well done !

Chefs and owners Sunita and Sanjay passion for innovation and authenticity has got DAANA recognition by critics and peak industry bodies consistently over the last four years. DAANA is the first Indian restaurant from the nation's capital to receive top recognition at the Restaurant and Catering Association of Australia (RCA) Savour Awards – 2019 National Finals winning the Silver Awards in Best Indian/ Sub-Continent Restaurant Category.
