Booking was recognised upon arrival, but they found us a table within 10 minutes. Noisy, due to an enclosed room and a group at an adjacent table). Could be improved by opening a window. Service was reactive, rather than proactive, but always very pleasant. Some dishes/drinks we would have ordered from the menu were unavailable on the day.
One of my favourite restaurants in Glebe. Very delicious food, generous serving.
The service is friendly and helpful although we needed to go to them in order to pay the bill. It can get a bit noisy. Most importantly, though the food is superb and we will definitely be returning.
We booked online- but our booking was not in thir list.. waited for 20 min outside. ordered Lamprice it was so melly and watery- no taste at all.. and very pricy.. hoppers are 6 dollar per Hopper is very very expensive. not just a money- the taste not the authentic Srilanakn taste.
Started well but ended up being a bit ordinary & particularly a fish biryani with unrecognisable hard fish. And staff were indifferent & made incredible noise & smell as they packed up from around 8.30pm. Nice ambiance, decent menu just disappointing overall unfortunately.
Great food and service! A pretty extensive menu and there was a range of food to try. One dish I’ll definitely be back for is the lamb biriyani. Delicious!
Authentic and homely
Second time at this popular little spot in Glebe. First time booking with The Fork since the TripAdvisor merger and there was a mix up with our reservation. They turned away a group before us saying they didn’t have a booking and said the same thing to us as well but thankfully - as I showed the confirmation on my phone - they offered a later table and kindly extended a further discount for the inconvenience as we had to wait nearly an hour. Luckily the flavours are worth the wait here. Last time it was my husband and myself but this time as we went with friends we had the advantage of sampling more dishes from the menu. The seafood curry was the winner! Unfortunately both times we’ve been the Roti and stuffed paratha type dishes haven’t been much to write home about. But there are so many other great dishes to choose from it’s nothing to worry about it. Would definitely come back to this little local treasure.
Amazing food as always!
The food is delicious and the service is very good too.
Food was delicious and authentic but I don’t understand how it can be THIS expensive
Friday’s Nights dinner service was hit & miss More on the miss side unfortunately Only 1 of our 2 shared entrees were delivered Then a wait if at least 30 minutes and our 3 curries & rice arrived Along with 2nd entree. A few minutes later Hoppers Arrived We specifically asked for Entree then Hoppers then curries in that order. Yes the food is good. But you need to listen to your customers and keep them informed when things go awry
So good and popular. You should book. Loads of vegetarian options.
We have dined here many times and unfortunately our recent dinner was not nearly as good as previous times and it was somewhat disappointing.
Delicious Sri Lankan food - authentic flavors and well priced. I have been 3 times already and plan on many more.
Excellent Sri Lankan food
All the food is delicious!
First time trying Sri Lankan food - will be back
good food but service very slow. nice wait staff but possibly over-burdened.
The goat curry was fantastic, with a sauce that oozed with the flavour of fresh spice. We also had okra which was delicate and delicious, although my dining companion found it a bit salty (didn't stop her from eating it though).
