An exceptional evening! Our welcome was warm and throughout the service was great and friendly. The starters were splendid but the shared paella main course was truly exceptional! The evening ended with a small but startling earthquake! We shall always remember Diztinto and wish them well. A truly exceptional evening!
The service and environment is very good, However they need to listen to what client wants and says. Even though we had mentioned that we avoid sunflower oil, the fish soup was pure oil with some pieces of very salty fish and potatoes. There were no some dishes available due to absence of some basic products like avocado, or cheese. The taste of other dishes were good, but for being called a restaurant could be a bit better.
Lovely new place. Food was delicious. The portions were slightly big for our taste. Welcoming service. Would come again!
Super
Staff were very welcoming and restaurant was lovely but the food let it down. Vegetarian kebab was awful and to charge €16.95! Squid was average, thankfully we were on the 50% discount or we would of complained. Sorry guys but not worth a second visit.
This restaurant was a great find among the back streets of Funchal. The street had other restaurants all with outside tables - a great atmosphere particularly at night. We first tried at lunchtime and were so impressed with the food that we returned for an evening meal a couple of days later. The food was excellent - the best during our holiday. The belly pork, pigs cheek and flamed salmon were delightful. Also the chocolate fondant and coffee panecotta were delicious. Great wines too. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and professional. It was extremely easy to book using the Fork, google maps took us there to find our reserved table in a lovely position. The 50% discount was an added bonus which made the meal very affordable. We would certainly return on our next visit to Funchal .
Nice outside table in the pedestrian street, received a warm welcome. Drinks order was taken quickly, but we had to wait a while for the food order, but it was busy so it was fine. Starters were good and we can recommend the octopus carpaccio, stuffed mushrooms and the grilled limpets. Mains, the Madeira seed crusted tuna was tasty, I asked for it rare, which one fillet was but the other wasn’t but it was good, food was warm but not hot, which is how I like it and think it would have been better if the plates were warm. Duck Magret was excellent especially the sauce, Sea Bass and prawns also went down well. All in all it was good, but we were expecting more fine dining having read previous review and seen the photographs. What let the meal down was the service, yes the restaurant was busy, but they had several staff. We had to ask for everything, had to get the wine menu myself, remind them for an ice bucket, it went on throughout the whole meal. Food is good, but not fine dining.
Mistake in check.Apology accepted.
This was our 3rd visit this holiday. As per previous occasions, the food was excellent but the service was a little slow - through no fault of the lady waiter who buzzed cheerfully around trying to keep up with orders. Look forward to eating here again next year.
Excellent service and food as always
As always! Delicious food.....highly recommend pork cheeks....out of this world. Desert, house wine....just superb. Staff just so friendly and professional. Love this place.
Delicious Regional food and vine. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful view on the street. ????????we really love that place. Lovely, lovely. Lovely
The restaurant is located in an attractive pedestrian only setting. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Staff gave us a very warm welcome and were extremely friendly and efficient. A very enjoyable meal in a relaxing environment - looking forward to our next visit.
Once again we returned for the pork cheeks.....just awesome!!! Love the food....the service, the ambiance!! ????????????
Very pleased with table allocated. Plenty of menu choices. Had Limpets for starter which was a first time experience. Waiter gave us some info about the Limpets and explained how to eat them. For main course had Steak Madeira and COD with Corn Bread. Both excellent and accompanied with fresh veg. Coffee to finish. Really enjoyed the experience
The service was really good andichte staff very friendly. The wine recommended was superb. If you sit outside the street is a perfect place for peoples watching.
Loved loved the food, we all had pork cheeks, devine and so was the deserts. The wine is very expensive and that pushes your bill to the expensive side.
We had a really good meal and would recommend this restaurant. The staff were very friendly. My husband has the Black pigs cheeks in a red wine sauce and I had the tuna with a seeded coating. They were both excellent.
Food overall was good. Let down by the tuna being over cooked and the coffee was really awful. Waiting staff really friendly.
We had an amazing night at Diztinto! The service and food were both amazing :)
