Fabulous
six of us got together for a family celebration - the Dove offered a quiet local pub atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. The Sunday roast (we had lamb and beef) was nicely done - the meat was great (though the vegies might have been a bit over done) and the portions were generous. Also a few gluten free options, which we needed. Food came quite quickly and the whole thing was reasonably priced. All in all a great place to enjoy our celebration. My only regret was no hot English mustard!
Loved it all! Great food, drinks and service. Tunes were perfect as well!
Great place for a team lunch. Excellent selection of beers on tap. Menu and food suited all and came out in a reasonable time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Great pub atmosphere, excellent selection of beers and the food menu was good. We sat on the terrace upstairs which was outdoors yet shaded. I would recommend a visit.
Perfect for a pint and a meal before heading off to the theatre. The steak was tender & juicy. The staff are always relaxed yet attentive with a smile. Huge selection of bers are the bonus.
Always a good experience, but the Covid-19 menu is very limited with no salad type options on the menu which was a disappointment, but the grilled chicken burger was a very good (but less healthy) substitute to what I really should have been eating.
Family Sunday lunch at the Dove and Olive was terrific. We had a corner booth table upstairs with plenty of room, next to the windows. The room was almost full, but not noisy. Covid 19 precautions were in evidence throughout the pub. The stand out meals were the Roast Lamb and the Nachos. Both were absolutely delicious - generous servings, well presented and prepared. The Dove Beef Burger was tasty and with plenty of dressing and fillings. The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger disappointed as it was dry and lacking both dressing and flavour. Chips were generous and tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. This is a great local pub and we'll be back.
We came here for the Sunday roast and was not disappointed. Yummy and volume just right. Not a beer person but cider was yummy! Friends have other dishes and they were good too!
No lamb ragu at 630 so assume they just exit’it off the menu. Left with pie which just sufficed.
The Dove & Olive is a lively venue with great atmosphere and some great food. The best place to eat is upstairs but the lower level is where everyone gathers. They did well with social distancing.
Fantastic. Great Venue Great vibe Easy to find.Light Rail at the front door Prompt and polite welcome. Hand sanitizer on arrival Delicious food Big serves. A big 10/10 for the staff. Well Done.
Would’ve rated the food higher if it was adequately warm/hot. I had the beef pie which was tasty and the beef was tender. Chips, gravy and mushy peas were cold as were all my friends dishes hence didn’t eat the meals we paid for. This was on a quiet Weds night and simple mistakes that are unacceptable for a pub that blatantly advertise awards for their food! and demonstrates a lazy and don’t care attitude in the staff. Cook and heat your food properly... that shouldn’t be too hard to fix right Dove & olive?!
Always good Great to be back.
Table wasn’t reserved, some people came and took it. Staff didn’t help
Best trivia in Sydney!
Excellent range of craft beers. We tried the beer of the day which is New World Pilsner, and it is cold and refreshing on a warm day. For lunch we ordered a variety of house smoked meats. The short rib and lamb are good and the sides that accompany the mains are good too. However the brisket is dry and woody, maybe due to not enough basting in the cooking process. That dish certainly needs more work done to it.
Went for the Sunday roast and it was fine although it was pulled pork rather than a roast. No crackling. Vegies and Yorkshire puding all good although could have been hotter.
Top snitz
Great pub with tasty food and a amazing beer selection.
Food servings are always tasty and well portioned. Nothing too extravagant, but a great feed. Love the range of beers available & the attentive service. A pre-theatre favourite for our group.
