Charming restaurant, attentive and informative waiting staff who explained the menu in detail, offering their favourite selections. Every mouthful was a joyful burst of flavour. Just delicious. Yummy Turkish beer as well. Due to lack of time, wasn't able to try desserts, but I'm sure would have been scrumptious. Will definitely return.
Great all round, friendly and helpful service. Every plate of food was superb????
Great food and excellent service - always reliable
Incredible Turkish food with friendly and professional service. Literally every bite was amazing! I especially loved the Ali Nazik - tender, flavoursome lamb with eggplant that’s out of this world. I’d recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for incredible food, lovely ambience and welcoming service!
Affable staff, amazing atmosphere, delicious food in particular prawns! Would highly recommend anyone to go, with family and friends or on a date.
Great food and service. Restaurant noisy hard to communicate with fellow diners or even staff due to ambient noise. Need noise rducing features inside rstaursnt
Over priced tiny portions of very average food. Erratic service - we won’t be back
Had been looking forward to dining here and it didn’t disappoint. Fantastic service we went for the banquet and it was fabulous everything that came out was sublime highly recommended
Lovely outdoor setting. Little chilly but staff happily sorted a heater. Staff were busy but very efficient and knowledgeable. Food and drinks were good and no wait times.
Amazing! This is Turkish cuisine at it's best. Perfect for a date, celebration or if you want to spoil yourself. The service and atmosphere is beautiful.
Amazing service, great food and the atmosphere is beautiful.
This a truly authentic restaurant, with all the matters that drive success in place: very small main course list, excellent mezethes, excellent side dishes, very good service. It’s fidelity to all matters Turkish is first class, from the raki to the desserts. Lamb predominates, and wisely so; one of the lamb mains was outstanding, and the baseline was at a very satisfying level. I. Asked for apple tea and got it. The explanations by serving staff were knowledgeable and satisfying. Efendy, take a bow!
What a fantastic restaurant! Food is incredibly delicious and a really different experience. The service is probably the best we have ever encountered. Very highly recommended!
The food, ambience, service, everything was great!
The food was great, we ordered the banquet for 4 and there was soooo much food, all of which was really good. We also had the matching wines and were pleasantly surprised with how good they were, and they were very generous with the pours. We will definately be back!!
Food was excelllent, the hummus and lamb dishes were standouts. We had the banquet which was great, looking forward to going back and ordering off the menu.
We had another perfect dinner at Efendy, starting with a glass of wine in the cozy little bar. For starters we had the Kadayif prawns and Icli kofte, both divine flavour sensations. Our favourite main course dishes were the Kirde Kebabi and of course the Eggplant bomb, accompanied with a crunchy Mevsim Salata. Service was friendly and attentive, and a complimentary apple tea and Turkish delight afterwards was much appreciated. Will be back again and again.
Amazing banquet with great matching wines! Love the atmosphere of this place!
Delicious food and even better cocktails!! Try the Turkish coffee martini!
Great! Love coming here

Young Turks Efendy may mean “gentleman” in old Turkish but there’s nothing old-fashioned about this Balmain stalwart run by chef Somer Sivrioglu, with wife Asli and brother-in-law Fatih Kulle running front-of-house. Fitting then that the broader definition, according to the website, is someone ‘with a traditional upbringing who adopts modern views’. That’s the approach Sivrioglu brings to both the menu which showcases five centuries of regional Turkish recipes to which he has added his personal, contemporary touch, while making the most of the finest local produce. Efendy’s seasonal menu is designed to share, or you can choose to go for their signature Anatolian Feast which features some of the restaurant’s more popular dishes including charcoal- smoked eggplant babaganush and lamb testicles with pistachio chilli and almond tarator. Sivrioglu makes frequent trips back to Turkey to keep up to date with what’s happening in the mother country, and has even published his own cookbook – ‘Anatolia’ – if you want to try out any of these delicacies at home. Efendy’s breakfast was voted the city’s best in the 2014 SMH Good Food Guide, and no wonder: their ‘Van’ style breakfast menu includes freshly-baked pide, an array of cheeses, jams such as cherry, rose and fig, along with hot dishes such as Menemen eggs, sujuk spicy sausages, cigar borek and pachanga borek. Their drinks menu also hits the spot with options such as homemade lemonade with muddled pomegranate or mint, or for the more adventurous, Ayran, a salty yoghurt drink. If you’re after something a little more alcoholic to accompany breakfast, lunch or dinner, why not try a Narosa – sparkling wine, pomegranate and Pama pomegranate liqueur or a Vishnosa – Sparkling wine, vodka marinated sour cherries and cherry juice. As they say in Turkey – Afiyet olsun (Enjoy your meal)! Best dish: kaygana-melted kashar cheese with carob molasses and walnuts
