Delicious!!! Great location in the heart of Williamstown. Window seat with a beautiful sea breeze. Menu was really interesting. I’m vegetarian and it was so refreshing to have options - really good options - to choose from. Paella balls were tasty, corn cobs were best ever (it’s my thing!). Real fresh flavour in all our dishes. Our server was great, food beautifully presented and timing from the kitchen was perfect allowing us time to enjoy our tapas and other dishes. Perfect place for a yummy, carefree lunch. Thanks El Burro and The Fork - it was because of you that we found what’s now my favourite lunch spot even if it is 25kms away - well worth it.

GREAT Paella here! Friendly happy atmosphere. Quality Spanish & Mexican food served piping hot, great flavours! We loved the Seafood Paella, hot on the pan with that authentic taste. It's great they open for dinner at 5 pm. Relaxed family atmosphere, jugs of Sangria, what can be better?

Good taps and different from your day to dat restaurant. The paellas were not as good as the tapas, specially the seafood one. Wine a rip off. Only 3 bottles of red on the list and $50 the cheapest. The one we had (Shiraz) was nothing special.

One of our favorites, but they were having a bit of an off night. The food was a little less generous than normal, particularly with the loaded Bravas. The service was also a bit off with an taps forgotten until later in the meal. I think the pressure of servicing Uber Eats may be impacting them.... The Uber Eats orders certainly appear to get priority. Still, they're one of our favorites and our guests were happy.....

There were smells in the back courtyard (fertilizer or drain?) so we moved inside. Inside was nice, got to pick whichever table we wanted. Drinks came fast however food took quite awhile to come out. People who ordered after us had some of their food first, but it may be due to the specific dishes. Service was friendly.

About the restaurant

Spanish feasting and sangria galore It is hard to walk past a Spanish restaurant, knowing that the likelihood is very good that you will be offered large platters of food with exotic flavours that you cannot replicate at home. It’s exactly the case at El Burro, with a fabulous Tapas menu that makes it the ideal place to bring a family group or celebration with friends to enjoy banter around one of their long wooden tables, enjoying the hustle and bustle of this popular eating hole. Excellent jamon is a sign of a great Spanish eatery and this place has wafer-thin slices of one of the best versions of it, which, along with steamed mussels in white wine with chilli and garlic, and delicious Spanish meatballs in spicy tomato sauce are some of the more popular sharing dishes. Vegetarians are well taken care of with one of the best vegetarian paellas around, along with a seafood or meat version. The house-made ice-cream is a talking point, the perfect dessert to wash down the spicy dishes you enjoy prior. Lastly, if you cannot fit in the time or space for a feast here then why not stop in for a plate of Churros and a glass of sangria to end the night – it’s the stuff dreams are made of. Best dish: chorizo with balsamic onion jam, goat’s cheese and cherry tomato
