We love El Camino and will definitely be back! The view is stunning, the atmosphere always happening, the staff are friendly and helpful and the drinks are always on point and great value. The food, however, is not the strong point...but we highly recommend this venue for a good time with friends for some drinks and nibbles :)
My girls loved the atmosphere (hats) and my margarita was delicious but the food was a little heavy and the bar service very slow. Great spot but for the price I found the food disappointing.
The staff were friendly enough. Good atmosphere for a group. We booked a table but were sat at the back of the restaurant with no view, meanwhile many empty tables with sea-views remained empty. The food was average for a chain-Mexican restaurant
Bad attitude of floor manager - kept us & 6 other diners waiting 10 minutes before we could be seated. Sulky and unapologetic. Kitchen service haphazard. My husband’s meal arrived 10 minutes before mine and part of my meal did not arrive at all! Would not go again.
First time at this restaurant and I found it was fun, service was great, food was delicious & came out fast. The frozen margaritas where amazing. Looking forward to going back
We enjoyed our time here but it was really obvious staff had no idea what was going on. We had to ask loads of times about the menu and deals and approach staff to be served. The food was nice though and good value specials. Atmosphere really cool, a young crowd. If the staff are a little more trained next time, could be great!
The location of this place is great, beautiful views across the water, but the food is so bland and substandard, such a shame. The mexican food is better at Guzman Y Gomez below this restaurant unfortunately.
The fajitas were amazing!! (and great value on half price Thursday) - Pepper & Lime steak and original chicken ones both fab!) The meals didn’t come out at the same time though which means half our table had finished their meal before the rest got theirs... :( We sat outside, the view is beautiful and its not as loud as inside for gals who like chatting :)
All good but a tight squeeze and a large group placed beside us as well.
Mixed feelings about El Camino, the way the kitchen sends out dishes is very inconsistent. One nachos with the lot came out with plenty of corn chips but the second one did not. In Saying that I also must point out the nachos are very tasty although I would have loved some more guacamole and sour cream. I had to order extra sour cream at $2.50 which came in a tiny dish. Frozen margaritas are delicious and big but one simple gin and tonic is quite steep at $16.50. Customer service was friendly and helpful. Loved that a lot of the servers spoke Spanish. I will definitely go back again but maybe this time I’ll give them feed back on the spot. Nearly forgot, love that we could order at the bar, it’s great not to have to workout a bill for 14 at the end.
Fun place. Ordered the fajitas and shared. Plenty of food when accompanied by a couple of margaritas
The Acai berry margarita's were amazing... please keep this flavour El Camino!! Also great free chips and salsa while sipping on cocktails!!!!
On arrival, there was no one at the front desk. A group of staff were standing around talking. After 2 minutes, I went to get someone and someone eventually came over and seated us. It took the waitress 15 minutes to take our drinks order. The drink were quite good but the server spilt some of one and really struggled to carry 2 drinks. They only have one proper gluten free option which is a burrito bowl. For $19 you get some vegetables and rice, half a steak which was thin, cold and very chewy. The menu also says it comes with avocado, but the dish did not come with it. When I asked a server, he said he would check with the kitchen but never came back. Five minutes after, another server got a small ramekin of guacamole. My friends ordered quesadillas which were two tortillas with some mushrooms and cheese for $12.5. Overall it was an overpriced, frankly poor meal
First time back in a long time. Seemed to be a little understaffed. Food was good as always, sangria nice and refreshing. Hopefully things staffing related are better next time
Did the Tex Mex Fiesta and loves it but felt the staff ignoring us after 1hour into the 2hour sitting and had to keep asking for service. Great drinks and food, left very happy
Pretty pricy food for what you get But nice views and good for groups
Food and service were ok. Standard mexican fare of Nachos, Tacos, Fajitas etc.
Such a disappointment. Despite the high prices at lunchtime it was an order at the bar service. My husband ordered me a drink and then the barman said he'd bring it over. A few minutes later a stroppy waitress brought it over telling us we'd forgotten our drink. Service was pretty low, food was average to below average e.g. churros tasted greasy and of old oil. Will not be going back.
Great atmosphere and thanks for having a vegan menu.
Absolutely great experience at El Camino Manly. The staff were great, we had a great table overlooking the water and the sunset all whilst enjoying delicious food and great cocktails! The vibe around the restaurant was awesome, friendly, plenty of life and just a great night out.
