The bouncer was incredibly rude/curt. As the first face that the customer sees, this has a big impact on their experience, and can set the customer off on the wrong foot. The wait staff didn't check on us to see if we wanted anything and we weren't able to flag anyone down to order more drinks.
Came on a Thursday at 6PM. Used our member keychains (free) to get happy hour priced frozen margaritas. They unfortunately ran out of their monthly special (acai), but the mango was still great. Their Thursday special is half-priced fajitas so we tried the braised beef, and wow! The beef was so tender. Loved it. Service was a bit slow, but between the $7.50 massive drinks and free nacho chips, would come back again for amazing beef fajitas!
Turned up to the reservation and table had been given away. Then the host took us to another table and left us waiting next to it in a busy section while a guy cleaned it. As we were waiting my friends went to order drinks from the bar and we eventually got to sit down while they were still there and a female waiter approached and asked us for drinks. We explained our friends had gone to the bar as we had been waiting and she said well actually you have table service and slammed the menus down and left. Then another waiter tutted when my friend didn't know what he wanted to order. Terrible service and food was not to usually standard either.
Good place for a drink and food, new quick ordering system from table was easy to use and had photos of all meals
looked to be a lot of staff working however service was extremely poor. Took about 30-40 mins for our drinks to arrive and the food we ordered wasn't correct and got charged for "extras" that were never advised
Really hard to find anything positive to say except the drinks where reasonably priced. The food was tasteless.. service totally terrible. Our dirty plates where left on the table for an hour before being removed. Had to ask for everything twice. No attention to detail. I felt like I was eating at a Youth club. I think the venue is more about getting young people to drink copious amounts than food.
We loved the food & the welcoming atmosphere. The music was far too noisy for all of us: I’d be interested in the decibel rating for OHSW for the workers.
Good for big groups or parties. However service was poor and food disappointing
Such a fun atmosphere with great music and Mexican food! Loved the free nachos and the cocktails are great value for what you pay!
Overall the Fiesta deal was really good value for money with plenty of food and drink.
Half price fajitas, they were amazing I would have paid full price. Very filling, good quality. I’ll be back.
We were made to pay a 10% service charge for having a group of 10 people but the the service was really below average. We booked ahead for a group of 10, but still we were given only 2 cups, 4 forks and 3 plates. Was very annoying having to repeatedly ask for these things, and then pay extra for a service that wasn't really provided.
Really disappointed as I’m a big fan of the Manly restaurant. The Rocks was a mess from the minute we arrived. We were sat in the wrong section, waiting 15 minutes for someone to serve us before I went up to ask what was going on and was told they had sat us in the wrong place. Some nachos and chicken wings came out pretty quickly, but we had to remind them of 1 vegan and 1 vegetarian - twice. The vegan and vego only got nachos the entire 2 hours, and the drinks were few and far between. We would sit waiting over 15 minutes to be served and this was supposedly a bottomless package. No one seemed to know what was going on and about 20 minutes before our seating was finished, the rest of our meals plus dessert came out. Again, no further food for the vegan and vegetarian even though we asked (again). Would not recommend and would not go back. Incredibly disappointed and my mates felt ripped off - especially those who only got nachos when I was told when I called to confirm (twice before we booked) that they catered to vegans and vegetarians. I would never have gone had I known this is what they consider ‘catering.’ Oh and they still had to pay the same as the rest of us who got 4 different dishes!
Great location, fun friendly and a must for tourists to visit
Fun atmosphere but very noisy so more suited to groups of friends for a night out.
Enjoyed my time here but not sure why we are asked to leave the table while finishing our drinks and move to the balcony when the restaurant was empty, it was not because they were wanting our table. Just something to think about
I recently celebrated my Birthday here with a group of about 20+ friends. Staff we very accommodating of my request for an area in the bar so we could all order and pay separately. Amazing frozen margaritas and tasty tex mex food (I had the quesadillas!). The location being right next to The Argyle was a perfect way to kick off our evening in the City!
Great night celebrating my husband’s retirement with a group of 30 friends who took full advantage of half price margaritas
Was a real disappointment. Made a booking only to show up with no greeting and standing at the door, go to bar to ask and just gets sent to a hightop table that was not comfortable especially when we booked a table and there was a whole restaurant area empty. Food was overpriced and below average with burritos having no flavour and tacos not worth $6 each. Frozen margaritas were way too potent even with “warning” given.
This restaurant is great for large groups! Food portions are generous and is fairly priced. Their frozen margaritas are excellent. I would definitely visit again.

A real Tex-Mex experience
It took more than a year for the Urban Purveyor Group to come up with a true Tex-Mex concept for El Camino Cantina, but you know what they say, good things come to those who wait. This restaurant/cantina delivers brilliant tex-mex cuisine, just like you would find in cities like Austin, Texas. Think big, bold flavours in the form of spicy salsas, tacos, fajitas and enchiladas, plus an abundance of freshly squeezed, blended and shaken Margaritas. This fiesta style restaurants has two bars, a large dining room and a tequila and mescal lounge. It’s a place for loud voices and those looking to have a bit of fun. Let your hair down at El Camino.
