The food was exceptional. Karaage Chicken entree is delicious as was the Dick Pâté. Stand out dishes were the Boullibaise, Suckling pig and the cauliflower side. Venue is a little noisy as it’s too open. They could also add a small kids menu but otherwise fantastic food.
The steak was one of the chewiest I've had in recent memory, It was sent back but came out just as tough and slightly more pink (unnoticeable). There was no kids menu offered. For the kids, we ordered the Chicken karage, which supposedly tasted good; however, were ordered as a main size even though it was for six and ten-year-old girls—charged $38 each for chicken karage. Other patrons offered kids options who were even older than our kids. Staff had no clue what they were doing. Overall this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in the last five years and definitely the worst ever at the hunter valley, and I've been going up there for close to a decade.
Food was excellent with a nice setting outside In summer I’d definitely recommend inside due to flies A few little one percent things brought down the score but the food was that good I’d definitely go back
Delicious food!!! Will be back again.
Wonderful food. We had the banquet and the chef should be commended. Every dish was delicious. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. While our group was probably a little too loud, the room seemed to echo and amplify the noise of everyone in there, making it hard to hear sometimes. That was my only complaint though. I would definitely return.
Excellent food and friendly staff, about 6 th time we have eaten there, best restaurant in the area amongst many. Preferable to book as very popular!
Had a nice dinner here with my sister and nephew, the garlic prawns were absolutely amazing! Recommend you order the dish if you go.
We absolutely loved Emerson's! this place has amazing food. Not just yummy, but generous servings and great staff! A must try at the Hunter! thank you for a beautiful dinner ????
Meals are quite large so I think next visit we will do the menu as if they were designed to be share plates. Very rarely do we ever let good food win, on this occasion we did. Food was lovely just wished we had paced ourselves!! ????
Venue was pleasant and tables were well-spaced to comply with health situation. Our waitress was cheerful and helpful and the food very tasty. I would be happy to eat there again.
We were so pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! It was a last minute booking. The food and wine was superb. The staff were friendly, the location was also very beautiful. We had such a lovely afternoon.
Food was good but most were wines on the list not available and service whilst friendly was not professional.
Good food, lovely staff, terrible ambiance Orders suckling pig - was mostly crackling not much meat Barramundi was nice Kids spaghetti was good but a little under cooked
The food as always was amazing..... will always return, relaxed feel can eat fantastic food without having to dress to the nines. When on a relaxing weekend just want to breeze in after a long day out, eat and drink well and go back to the accommodation and relax. Enjoyed the whole experience.
Modern restaurant with a beautiful outlook over the vineyards. Excellent coffee. Tasty food and excellent quality ingredients.
The food was really good. All 4 coffees were cold. Splitting the bill seemed to be ok at the start but the staff member was unpleasant. At the end of the transaction there was no good bye or thanks for coming just heads down and ignorance. Would rush back as the atmosphere just isn’t inviting.
Would happily recommend to all. Food was just great
Breakfast at Emerson’s this morning was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals and coffee. It was raining but sitting outside was lovely with the heaters on. Thank you for a fantastic breakfast
The staff at Emerson were very professional and friendly. The food was beyond our expectations, the king prawns were a 10/10. We agreed they were the best prawns we had ever had. The cauliflower dish was also superb. We will definitely come back.

Wining and dining
Few restaurants are as perfectly situated as the gorgeous Emerson’s Café and Restaurant. Located in the heart of the Hunter Valley, surrounded by acres of vineyards, this charming establishment is one of the best places to go in the area for a beautiful meal in a beautiful setting. Go for lunch and ask for a table out on the verandah so you can embrace the full experience of an alfresco meal. Order up some lovely wine (you’re in the Hunter Valley, after all) then tuck into some of chef Emerson Rodriguez’s divine creations. Nibble on some spiced pumpkin fritters that come with a mint yoghurt dipping sauce, twirl your way through a bowl of fresh seafood spaghettini with garlic and chilli or dig right into some slow cooked lamb shoulder with orecchiette and spinach. If you have the time (and the appetite) you should definitely consider trying the chef’s degustation menu. While lunch sittings make the most of the beautiful outdoor setting, breakfast and dinner at Emerson’s are just as good.
