We were so pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! It was a last minute booking. The food and wine was superb. The staff were friendly, the location was also very beautiful. We had such a lovely afternoon.
Food was good but most were wines on the list not available and service whilst friendly was not professional.
Good food, lovely staff, terrible ambiance Orders suckling pig - was mostly crackling not much meat Barramundi was nice Kids spaghetti was good but a little under cooked
The food as always was amazing..... will always return, relaxed feel can eat fantastic food without having to dress to the nines. When on a relaxing weekend just want to breeze in after a long day out, eat and drink well and go back to the accommodation and relax. Enjoyed the whole experience.
Modern restaurant with a beautiful outlook over the vineyards. Excellent coffee. Tasty food and excellent quality ingredients.
The food was really good. All 4 coffees were cold. Splitting the bill seemed to be ok at the start but the staff member was unpleasant. At the end of the transaction there was no good bye or thanks for coming just heads down and ignorance. Would rush back as the atmosphere just isn’t inviting.
Would happily recommend to all. Food was just great
Breakfast at Emerson’s this morning was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals and coffee. It was raining but sitting outside was lovely with the heaters on. Thank you for a fantastic breakfast
The staff at Emerson were very professional and friendly. The food was beyond our expectations, the king prawns were a 10/10. We agreed they were the best prawns we had ever had. The cauliflower dish was also superb. We will definitely come back.
We got the banquet which were all superbly delicious, great value for money and definitely more than enough food. Wine choice was nice, and it was lovely to sit outside in the fresh air. Staff were very lovely. It was a really enjoyable long lunch for us.
The duck risotto, the side of wedges, and the spaghetti vongole were too salty. The dishes are too expensive for the quality, so definitely the place is no value for money.
Really nice food and service was great. Generous portions and a nice atmosphere, will definitely visit again for breakfast. Loved it.........
We had a great experience for breakfast here. Wonderful staff, menu, and setting! Would definitely come back and recommend to others! Was perfect for a big group.
Third time here and the food and service has always been of a high quality. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great feed in the Hunter!
Excellent food; generous portions; good local wines. Reasonable value too. And pleasant chatty staff. Good choice for dinner
The food is really great. It’s a little pricey. Disappointed that half the menu was missing and this was for a 12.30pm sitting. This also included the wine menu. The cocktails were average with simple things like ice missing. The setting was ok, with a backdrop of vineyards and open space for kids to run around.
Really small portions, way over-priced. Especially the smashed SVP and toast- tiny serving for $23 is poor value for money. The service was however friendly
The food was excellent, , the risotto one of the best I've enjoyed. The spring rolls were unique and amazing as was the Pineapple tart Unfortunately the skillset of the wait staff let the chef down, very pleasant however very inexperienced
The ambiance was poor, it was like sitting in a concrete bunker. The service was slow, had a 7pm booking, were told where our seat was but not shown to the table. No drinks list on the table, so when the waitress came over 15mins later to ask if we wanted drinks we had no list to order from. She got us a list and said she wld Give us a minute and come back, it took her 20mins to come back and only after we got her attention. We ordered a bottle of wine which they brought out, looted us each a glass the took the bottle back behind the bar!! We had to ask later for our wine and I’m sure it wasn’t the same bottle that we had started with, so I don’t think we got a full bottle in our glasses!! Our mains didn’t some out until just after 9pm!! The entree was very nice, but the lamb shanks I had for mains was so salty. Dessert was horrible as well. Other couples were also complaining, one couple had to leave before they got their dessert because it was so slow coming out. Definitely would not go back or recommend this resteraunt!!

Few restaurants are as perfectly situated as the gorgeous Emerson’s Café and Restaurant. Located in the heart of the Hunter Valley, surrounded by acres of vineyards, this charming establishment is one of the best places to go in the area for a beautiful meal in a beautiful setting. Go for lunch and ask for a table out on the verandah so you can embrace the full experience of an alfresco meal. Order up some lovely wine (you’re in the Hunter Valley, after all) then tuck into some of chef Emerson Rodriguez’s divine creations. Nibble on some spiced pumpkin fritters that come with a mint yoghurt dipping sauce, twirl your way through a bowl of fresh seafood spaghettini with garlic and chilli or dig right into some slow cooked lamb shoulder with orecchiette and spinach. If you have the time (and the appetite) you should definitely consider trying the chef’s degustation menu. While lunch sittings make the most of the beautiful outdoor setting, breakfast and dinner at Emerson’s are just as good.
