Unfortunately for us the kitchen clearly was not on their game when we came for lunch My Sri Lankan Devil prawns entree consisted of ONE prawn that had not been deveined Not appetizing and clearly not as written on the menu The other entrees oysters and scallops were fine My main course of lamb was raw tough and not rendered The polenta was grainy and dry The fish main was over cooked the skin was soggy and the salad non existent We did not order dessert! A huge disappointment as on our previous visit we had really enjoyed our experience We will not be back

We had the 5 course set menu with matching wine. The food was average /dry in most cases. And the “servings” for the matching wines were very conservative! More like tastings. Wouldn’t come again.

Always a pleasure to go there and experience fine dining in a relaxed beautiful atmosphere. Menu was amazing again, wines awesome and the dessert was a work of art!

We have been going to Esca for around 15 years and it always has been consistent with good food and service. This time it appears the management and chef have changed . The food had plenty of faults and the service was provided by mainly trainee staff- all up a not so good experience. It was certainly not value for money .

Came back to give it another try and while the waitress was polite on arrival that’s where it finished. Not sure what to make of the menu as it was a bit all over the place. Please note have one item on the menu that’s Vegan does not constitute a vegan menu when asked. Never got asked if we wanted dessert or coffee and host was a little miffed when no tip was left. Maybe I just keep coming at the wrong time.

About Esca Bimbadgen

Esca Bimbadgen is situated high on a hill in the heart of Hunter Valley Wine Country.
