I thought the salmon would be cooked so was surprised it was lox and was tasty enough. We tried grilled haloumi cheese and didn’t like it as it also wasn’t hot enough and was rubbery. We haven’t had it before so aren’t sure if it will be same at other places but we won’t be ordering it to find out- we will go for goat cheese instead on any salad. We aren’t sure why they wouldn’t let us pre-book the high tea because the place had only two other tables occupied at our lunchtime and it was the weekend when they are supposed to have a high tea as long as you pre-book several days in advance but the fork said it was not available so maybe the restaurant just didn’t want to bother? It’s a patio outdoors and there are magpies begging for your food so watch your plates! There was a kookaburra in the tree but luckily he didn’t swoop down on us like he did at gunners barracks which is a phenomenal place for a high tea Overlooking Sydney Harbour in the Mosman area. This week Sidney has had a lot of smoke from controlled burns in the north so unfortunately the view from Shangri-La has been very gray until today November 2 we had rain and on the third it is a clear day for lovely views which I’m not sure how many days will last if they are still burning you should call around to ask about if the skies are gray or not again in November

I struggled a bit with the menu. Need a few interesting salads for lunch. Service was engaged and very friendly. Great place but you need to get rid of the birds.

We had a group breakfast : nice setting , beautiful gardens , plenty of parking . Unfortunately service was the worst possible and spoiled somewhat the mood of our gathering . I don't think we will be back in a hurry . R

We celebrated our adult daughter’s birthday with high tea at the tea rooms. It was exactly what we had hoped for and all the staff ensured that it was a very special occasion. Looking out onto the gardens made us feel as if we were in the country. It was a lovely experience and highly recommended.

Very accommodating of dietary requirements and the food was nice. Slightly annoying that they still charge a card transaction fee when the bill is over $200.

The staff were lovely, accommodating our last-minute dietary restrictions, and offering to move us to a quieter table outside (there was a VERY noisy teenage birthday party indoors which ruined the atmosphere for all other diners). Luckily the weather was lovely and we had a very nice high tea.
