Meet the Chef

Jarrod Di Blassi joined EZARD in 2012 as sous chef, after stints in a number of Melbourne institutions as well as abroad in Michelin-starred venues. After getting acquainted with the core EZARD philosophies and Teage's 'Australian Freestyle' methodology, Jarrod took over the reigns as Head Chef at the start of 2014. Jarrod is the recipient of the 2017 Good Food Guide's highly coveted Young Chef of the Year award, & has appeared as a guest chef on MasterChef Australia.

    The food, the environment and the staff could not have been better. We had a very good time and the staff independently draw a happy birthday to my partner’s plate, so nice of them. The only thing that I’d personally didn’t like so much was a bit of extra hot spice in one of the vegetarian 5 course dishes

    I enjoyed the flavors of each dish they presented for the 7-course that I have chosen. Food was very well thought out and presentation was top! Non-alcoholic beverages were good as well. Favorites included the Steamed king prawn dumpling, Eight score Sher wagyu, and Pork belly. With Pork belly coming in first, the Steamed king prawn dumpling second, and Eight score Sher wagyu last. I wish we got the Dark chocolate bar instead of the dessert tasting plate to share. It was delightful. Service was alright. It was the food that made the place. Sound acoustics of the place isn't good. If it's packed, the chatter reverberates so if you want an intimate dining, best to go when it's not a weekend or when it's packed. We went on a Friday night which explains the crunch time. I'd go back for an ala carte - mainly the Pork belly and Dark chocolate bar. :) Thanks to the team for putting "Congratulations" on the dessert plate for my engagement. That was a lovely touch to end the evening! Cheers!

    Didn't really have an atmosphere, lighting poor. Waiter's description of all courses seemed to be well-rehearsed and bland and not a true reflection of the meals as they came out. No real need to come back which is disappointing as it under-delivered and was on a little on the expensive side. Overall 6/10

    Been here multiple times. Food, plating and service never failed to impress. However during this latest visit the portion size of each dish has gone down noticeably. Dessert platter which in past visits came with 6 different desserts this time only had 4. As good as the food was this cannot be overlooked.

    Spent way too much money and left hungry. Delicious food but not value for money. Substitutes for the degustation for dietary requirements weren’t very nice (ie I’m allergic to prawn so the substitute dish was tofu) Wouldn’t come back

    Could not fault the food or service at Ezard and will most certainly be visiting again. I can recommend with confidence this venue to anyone of my friends knowing that they will not be disappointed. Staff were friendly and our waiter Zac was just fabulous. Above all else the food was excellent.

    Wonderful food and service yet again. Ezard never disappoints the discerning diner. Plating was outstanding. Pork Belly a triumph. Highly recommend the sharing plate of delectable desserts.

Squirreled away under the Adelphi, this basement-based stayer is the epitome of smooth. From the greeting at the door to the soft-furnished dining rooms, just-so lighting and muffled steps of waiters on carpet, it's cushy and cosseting and eminently comforting to sup under the ezard below-stairs roof.
