First of all they didn't have my booking that I booked through the Fork. Looks like they only take manual booking system, the old style. Service was super slow. We had to wait for 30mins for the entree and almost an hour for main. Underwhelming food and over price for Canberra restaurant. I don't recommend anyone to eat here nor will I come back. If you stay here you would better go up the road to Manuka or Realm for much much better value and nicer place.

Figtree is a very pleasant place to dine, it is surrounded by leafy plants and palms which are strewn with lights. It almost feels like being in a tropical resort. Service was friendly and prompt and the food was good. It was a bit chilly though, it would have been perfect if there had been a lovely fire or heating as it was a cool Canberra evening.

The steak which I ordered to be cooked as medium rare was undercooked and it was too chewy as a result.

The tuna sashimi tacos were delicious. The dusted baby squid was more than dusted and it was very chewy, but my husband still enjoyed it. I found the sesame crusted tuna fillet was a little overcooked for me, but the flavour was very good. It was supposed to come with a Japanese cress salad, but it was just a bit of cress on the plate, not even any dressing. There was no crust on the "pepper steak" with a pepper crust. It was just wet peppercorns spread on top of the steak. The pink peppercorns overpowered it. Not what was expected. Maybe that is why they put the quotation makes around the name of the dish on the menu. We were offered dessert menus when they took away our entrée. We told her we hadn't had our mains yet. She took away our entrée plates and immediately returned with our mains. There needs to be a break in-between courses!

For the price of the food I was expecting the atmosphere and surroundings to be a bit nicer. The service was OK, but they seemed overwhelmed.

I found the pork meal was very small. It is a concern when the kids chicken meal was bigger than this adult meal.

Fairly limited menu selection, but the steak I had was tasty and well cooked, although a little small. The main problem is that the restaurant is over priced for what you get. It is a pretty basic hotel restaurant, with seating in the same area as the breakfast area, with nothing to make it a venue to recommend.
