- Value for money
Fantastic Fitz Housed in a stunning Federation mansion with pressed tin ceilings, handmade brickwork, stained glass and Baltic pine floors, Fitzrovia is a place to linger. It might be over a coffee or a glass of wine or one of the fresh farmers’ market meals served from the delightfully open (and amazingly small!) kitchen. Fitzrovia doesn’t give in to the tapas and tasting trend; it’s more about comforting meals that use the freshest Victorian seasonal produce available. You’ll get the drift of a strong European influence on the food, and you might even feel like you’re in some cosy European setting in the rustic - but elegant - dining room. Of course on most days you’ll find a good crowd eating and drinking al fresco where they can watch the hustle and bustle of St Kilda’s Fitzroy Street. Fitzrovia serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and you’ll be tempted to go back three times a day. This is the type of place where you could just as easily bring your mother-in-law as your best friend for a good catch up. No matter what company you bring, you’ll find satisfyingly fresh food and a fun, chic atmosphere. And just try to walk by the pastry case at the entrance without your mouth watering—we dare you.
