Food was very tasty but very over priced. The service was a little inattentive, especially when you consider the amount they are charging for the meals.

We enjoy going to this hotel as the food is well prepared and the menu interesting. The noise level is high in the room we were in at the back in front of the fire. There are several dining rooms ask for a quiet one.

Service was exceptional. We sat in the dining room near the fire place and we all had the roast of the day, it was lamp rump with potatoes and mint peas mash with a touch of goat cheese. We had 2 shared entrees between 4 and all meals were excellent however very large so entrees were not required.

I had a function downstairs in the cellar for my birthday and it was amazing. The manager is a legend and was so accommodating to us. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

We scored the cosy, nook by the fire and it was easy for our table of seven to chat together without yelling. The service was lovely. The food was delicious and the menu is well designed to meet any diner whether they are up for high-end gastro pub, think super fancy steak or fish, or beautifully executed ‘pub favourites’ like the ‘Townie’ burger or steak sandwich. The ingredients used are top notch across the board, loved the To Be Frank roll used in the steak sandwich and the steak was very tasty. An excellent dinner in beautiful, refined surrounds, thanks you!

Always on the search for a great steak special. Me and my friends returned here for a second time in the past couple of months and the team did not disappoint yet again. The steak was cooked perfectly, tasted amazing, the fries were perfect and even the salad is delicious! Not to mention all for a bargain price. Highly recommend if you need a good iron hit or just want a great steak meal!

We had a lovely waitress, our food was cooked to our liking and well priced. We took our kids and two dogs. The only issue we had was when a man scared our dog by creeping up behind her and pulling out a chair and she barked, the man then yelled at the waitress and left. We apologised to the waitress. Was awkward and strange but otherwise we had a great time and food was delicious.

This was our first visit to the Fitzroy Town Hall Hotel, and the occasion was a family member's birthday. We dined in the restaurant. The staff were welcoming and friendly; the service attentive. Of the meals, the 'To Be Frank' bread and TOWNIE Burger were clear winners for both quality and price. The sirloin 'Steak Frites' and roast chicken were generous and tasty, but the market fish (a small snapper fillet with fennel, orange and butter sauce) came without salad or vegetables, and at $42, was underwhelming and overpriced. Overall, the dining experience was a good one and I would consider visiting again in the future.

Main restaurant was too noisy. Has to move to main bar. Although the staff were the ones to offer and were very accommodating. Overall staff were excellent however one waitress was very blunt and came across rude

Great place and Wednesday night special is 6 oysters with either a pot, wine or sparkling for $20 before 6pm and even better is their sorloin steak with either a pepper or Bernaise sauce with fries and coleslaw for $20 so beautiful and such great value. Love this place

Food here was very good, however the server clearly didn't understand the menu very well. When we asked if the 'crispy' oysters were deep fried, she said "no" that "crispy" was something they sprinkled on top. As it turned out they were deep fried and we wouldn't have ordered them had she answered properly. Errors get made, no big deal, but when we talked to the more senior person, they argued with us instead of just accepting the error had been made, essentially saying we should have known from the description of the dish what it was like. Pretty disappointing given the food was good quality.

First time here and also a great experience for our first meal out since the March shutdown - I was expecting (and accepting) that service and food might be a little rough due to the extended shutdown but on both fronts, the experience was impeccable. Great service and the food was stunningly tasty. My only critique would be the food was a little on the pricier side but given what hospo has been through lately they can justify trying to recoup some cost and regardless, the quality of the meals justified those prices. Would go again and will recommend to friends.

There was a party on in the function room, which meant the staff seemed a bit flustered. Waited a very long time for the bill and to pay. Food was good, but given how expensive it is, probably just good enough.

Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff, superb meal. We ate in the bar as we were enjoying the ambiance, service was excellent. Good selection of tap beers and good wines, just need to chill the Pedro Ximinez for next time we come; which we surely will.

We have been to the Fitzroy Town Hall Hotel 3 times now and have never been disappointed. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our table. Not only was the food 1st class, our waitress, Erica made sure we were looked after at all times.
