Had such a nice time at Franca. We had a pre-dinner catch up and laugh at the bar with friends who’d stopped by enjoying most refreshing cocktails then a delicious meal of steak and vongole. Highlight was the service - the attentiveness and consideration was outstanding!
The service, presentation and ambience of this restaurant was top notch. The food was very high quality, but it was slightly overpriced. The serving size of the dishes was ample but not overly generous.
The food was tasty but expensive. The decor and service very good but the noise level made conversation very difficult. I would not return unless the acoustics are improved.
Everything was amazing. An intimate setting with incredible food and drinks. Make sure you don't skip the desserts as they are really good (especially the chocolate bar)
I had mistakenly booked the wrong date and the staff were so lovely and accommodating even though they were busy. The food was very nice and a relaxed and cool atmosphere.
I brought my girlfriend to your restaraunt last saturday as a suprise as she had been wanting to go since you opened, from the moment we walked in it seemed very pretentios and uncomfortable. I started by trying to order the french onion soup for my starter but it had been taken off the menu which they hadnt told us from the start, which was dissapointing. The food was bang average, I had the pork jowl to start which was okay but all you could taste was black garlic... I had the prawn linguine for my main and the prawns where overcooked and it was such a little portion. Don't get me wrong if I was at the local Italian joint on the corner it would have been ok but, I would have paid $35 not $100. I think they need to take a step back and get the fundamentals nailed before paying all attention to waiters uniforms and the look of the place.
It is always a joy to come to Franca Brasserie. The decor is charming and upmarket, staff are amazing and make us feel special, and the food is outstanding. My new favourite place.
Lovely atmosphere ambience and decor excellent . Staff friendly and food excellent . Only disappointment was a couple of the signature dishes had run out :((
Expensive without hitting the mark on quality. Not very french either. Apart from the odd dish like French Onion Soup you can get this meal at most good restaurants in Sydney.
I thought it was a little expensive- but a lovely night overall. The food and service were both great. The fit-out is stunning. It is a beautiful room. However, once the room filled up, it did become quite noisy. the only downer was parking, parking, parking!!There are so many great restaurants in the area, but very little on street parking. I had to walk quite a distance from my car to the restaurant. Uber/taxi recommended.
Memorable food, service and decor. Despite living on the South Coast will return shortly. Waitstaff Maria particularly deserving of excellent commendation.
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE great ambiance/food/service.... will return again soon!
Dishes are not bad a bit above standard nothing WOW except the gruyere souffle was AMAZING. Overall the dishes are not bad for the price point. What we were disappointed was the service by the tall scruffy waiter was not up to standard for your restaurant. In the beginning he seemed tired and no energy. When he changed my plate he crashed the plate onto the table and make a big sound and did not apologise or anything. What annoyed me the most was he decided to pick up an oyster shell from MY PLATE. REALLY? Is he gonna pay for dry clean if he accidentally splash me with sauces or whatever? Do you train your stuff to pick up food and/or shells from customers OWN PLATE? Anyhow, toward the end of our dining experience he seems to be more energetic and now we see some smiles on his face. Not sure why. But when he brought the efpos machine to me he sure did asked if I want to leave tip. Nice try after the service you have provided. Wasn't going to leave this comment but you asked for it.
The waiting staff were a notable highlight. Extremely professional and very friendly. We had a great night
Franca was a real disappointment. The food was bland and not great; the service definitely did not match the ambience. The manager and sommelier were amazing and made up for the rest of the faults. Not sure it's worth a re-visit though.
What a fabulous establishment so grateful you’ve lifted the bar in Sydney... food... wine selection ... ambience ... everything
Was so disappointed in the food which was best described as bland, also when I asked for some chilli for my pasta, I was bought a small bowl of powdered spice
The customer service at the front was very disappointing. The girl who sat us wasn’t as friendly and told us abruptly we have to be gone by 8:30 as we were 15 mins late. Which I called to notify I was running late. We sat down and ordered immediately, our entrees came within a reasonable time however, our mains though took a lot longer and arrived at 8:25. I looked round and there were Unoccupied tables of four. As we left at 8:45 no one greeted us farewell There was another girl at the front and she didn’t even give us eye contact. It was disappointing as everything else was exceptional. The food & drinks were delicious.
Have been to Franca on many occasions and it never disappoints, welcome and very friendly staff who know the menu, wine list and also when to be present. Great for international guests and of course a great little local gem Highly recommend
