Fantastic night for our nephew’s 21st birthday. Delicious food, terrific service, wonderful, cosy ambience and I thought the price reasonable. We’ll be back.
Food was incredible, food was served super quick and waitress was really nice. I had the crepes maybe had too much sauce...
A reliable old friend is Gavroche Chippendale for a post-Bastille Day celebration. Bustling 2 sittings and socially distancing conscious the service was swift and attentive. Old French favourites; Steak Tartare; French Onion; and Chateaubriand were consistent with good quality French Bistro. The management of traffic for the 2nd sitting without rushing us out the door was gracefully handled. Good, solid, quality.
Great to step into the taste and feel of France in the heart of Sydney, and all a short walk from Central Station. I can highly recommend the main fillet sharing plate for $88 (or there abouts).
We had a long lunch to celebrate my mat leave and had a great time. I was only planning on ordering a main but the smells from the kitchen changed our minds! I ordered the French onion soup which was ok but lacked seasoning and there was none on the table to use. I had the steak and chips as main with the steak a little chewy. Some servings were on the small side. We had plenty of space between us and the next table and we had to sign in upon arrival for Covid. I wouldn't hurry back (pricey) but very glad we came.
We love coming here. The food is sensational and truly delicious. Every plate was wiped clean. The mocktails and cocktails amazing. Stand out food and lovely service.
Food was fine. However the place was too dark from turned down light setting, reading the menu was a struggle even with torch from phone. Mentioned to the waitresses nothing was done. One of them gave some limp excuse about the light from outside??? Lost in translation????? I had dined there before where the lighting was set at a more normal level.
The Menu Paris offers really good value for money. The attention to detail is exquisite. Do t forget to order the bread and the butter. The food has simplicity to allow flavours to shine through. And I’ve never had better crêpe suzettes. Highly recommended.
Great atmosphere and location. Friendly staff and delicious food. Would highly recommend the creamy Cauliflower Soup and the Creme Brûlée's !
French bistrot done well.
The atmosphere was amazing and the staff were really nice. Being a French restaurant, I expected to get bread with my moules and escargot to soak up the sauce. You had to order separately and took forever to arrive. By this stage my food was cold waiting.
Beautiful restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. A little hard to find (go up to the first floor). Very traditional bistro food. Great that they offer later sitting times. Wait staff can speak French. Bread and butter costs extra. Best dish was the risotto.
Loved the ambience and food. Service was sharp and very attentive. We tried three desserts and they are were amazing.
Food was great. Ambiance also fantastic. Highly recommended.
Epicurean Delight???????????? we had an Fantastic evening, it was my partner Birthday & we were treated so fabulously by the staff & the food was divine, felt like we were in France????
Fantastic food, great service, lovely room.
Well looked after, thank you for an amazing experience. We had a great time and was nice to have some traditional French food presented beautifully.
Delighted to have our first meal post-lockdown at Gavroche. Service was on-point, lovely atmosphere, despite social distancing meaning there were only 10 people in the restaurant. The food was very tasty, if a little bit overpriced for the quality. But would still go back to Gavroche for another dinner!
Good snails, service and environment. Mussels were okay. I didn’t like the crepes which was more sauce than crepe and had a very strong orange and alcoholic taste, but maybe that’s just what the dish is. Lemon meringue tart and crepe brûlée ordered by friends looked good.
Amazing food and great service. My first time eating snails and they were delicious. Duck was cooked to perfection and the lemon tart was the perfect way to finish the meal
