Great Service, well cooked food, a little salty for us.

Great tapas but very busy on a Saturday night so service was a little slow. Might come back on a weeknight when it is quieter so we can try more of their tapas.

Highly enjoyable lunch. Was not very busy so everything was super quick and service extremely fast. Food was was as good if not better than the food we had in Portugal a few months ago. Highly recommend.

This is the best and most authentic Portuguese food I have had in Australia. The Sangria is absolutely delicious, too!

About Gloria's Portuguese Restaurant

Pit stop in Portugal There are plenty of Spanish restaurants around but Portuguese ones are a little harder to come by. Most of them are located in Petersham, the epicentre of the Portuguese community in Sydney, and Gloria’s Portuguese Restaurant is the pick of the bunch. With a vast menu of authentic dishes on offer, there is literally something here to suit every palette. Begin the fun with a few small “tapas ibericas” dishes to share: maybe fried Portuguese sardines, some goat cheese with green olives and a few home-made meatballs in tomato sauce. Then dig into the mains. The shredded cod with potatoes and eggs is a Portuguese classic, as is the stuffed calamari. The dobrada (white bean stew with tripe, chorizo and smoked pork) is also definitely worth trying, as is the specialty steak. The Portuguese are famous for their desserts, so make sure you keep some space for sweets such as the caramel coated custard dish known as pudim. Best dish: Portuguese style prawns
