Absolutely amazing ramen! Also enjoyed the rock potato side a lot.
Not the cheapest ramen, but their broth quality makes up for it. Would come back again.
Service was slow, atmosphere above average, nice space between tables, food tasty and unique but you pay for it unless you stick to Ramen which looked decent (I don’t eat pork). Small servings otherwise. Wine list interesting but not bring BYO started from $55 a bottle. That’s Sydney for you and their inflated wine prices at licensed venues. Not sure I’d go back. Surprisingly young crowd.
Great food as always.
I don't personally like the burnt ramen, and to kotsu broth not as thick as other places
A wonderful place , staff were amazing. Food was sublime.
Great place as usual.
As a returning customer it is great to see the food quality is as high as ever. Sad about how hard it is to get a waiters' attention to place order. There was again no check up to see if we were ok for drinks etc. Only when it was time for last orders did this happen. Overall great night but more attentive service would be appreciated.
Food is generally good quality, perhaps can do better with more variety
The fried rock potatoes were a surprising hit! Every single ramen is delicious as well.
Gogyo is my absolute favourite for ramen in Sydney. It never disappoints.
Great ramen! The burnt miso flavour is truly unique.
Great selections from the menu . Cocktail is so beautifully delicious too
The broth of the Ramen is unusual and we will be back!
Atmosphere chilled out and sophisticated, waiting service last night was not as attentative as the last two times I'd been but easily forgiven given how amazing the food service was, timely and absolutely divine.
Food is great and I enjoyed some Japanese alcohol as well. Great Ramen place but other food is also delicious and worth trying.
Great space and loved the king prawn guacamole! Great kaarage. Affordable and relaxed.
This was beautiful, all of our group loved the food and drink. A great list of guns to choose from and absolutely delicious food, a little noisy for a quiet intimate meal but perfect for what we wanted!
Nice and Stylish atmosphere. Food served very quickly but not the drinks. Ramen was good!
Great ramen, will be back again!
52-54 Albion Street, 2010, Surry Hills, Australia
GOGYO is a Sydney neighbourhood gem that has it all but its ramen bowls take centre stage. Their Kogashi-style ramen involves a special charring technique that’s something to be experienced. And the best bit? It’s more than affordable making it great for everyone, from big groups to individual diners with a ramen craving.
A refuge from the busy streets of Surry Hills, this Japanese restaurant is all about the details. It’s designed with exposed brick, wood and slate and is kitted out with multi-coloured retro ramen bowls, elegant glassware and traditional Japanese baskets for your belongings.
Their specialty ramen isn’t the only thing that’s tempting. Their pulled pork buns, Angus beef and seared salmon sushi rolls are great sides. Vegetarians are taken care of too, with the veggie soba and other tasty meat-free dishes. If you needed any more convincing that you’ll be tucking into authentic Japanese cuisine, this is the sixth restaurant in the chain, with the others residing in Kyoto, Tokyo, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Hong Kong.
Sit back, relax, take a sip of one of their signature cocktails or Asahi black (on tap!) and dig into a steaming bowl of ramen – it’s a taste sensation.
