I ordered their favors pipi and fish dishes but I wasn't impressed. Marigold does a better job with the flavorings. Service at Golden century was also not that great. I had to get their attention multiple times to clean the table or get more water
The service wasn’t very friendly to start, we had a reservation and they didn’t seem bothered about it. We ordered 2 entrees and 2 mains. First entree came out, pork spring rolls (had a lot better) then they brought out a main (salt and pepper squid) and the rice. We said we had another entree coming so they took away the main and left the rice, and then brought the 2nd entree, prawn dumplings were nice. Then they brought out both mains but on taking a mouthful of the squid it was cold and had obviously been left sitting from when it was first served. We told 3 different staff before someone said we had to talk to the manager. Told him the story, no apology, paid for the entrees and our drinks and we left. Sorry but not at all impressed...

Excellent food as usual, don't need a TV in the restaurant,however. Pipis and black bean, salt and pepper squid, beef and pepper sauce were really tasty.

Wonderful lobster. This is the best place for lobster I ever have had in the world so far!! A very busy restaurant, remember to make reservation before you go
All the dishes that we ordered were really good. The service was also amazing as the staffs were always constantly making sure that we had a pleasant dining experience.
Came here for seafood, food was expensive but the seafood was fresh and cooked nicely!
Best place for fresh seafood. Nice to see all the live tanks full of creatures. Restaurant did seem a bit shabby compared to previous visits. Smelt like stale beer. Could do with a revamp as this place really is a Sydney institution.

A golden feast
When chefs from all over Sydney have finished their service they head to this joint for a midnight meal. In fact, the place is heaving come 2am. These guys specialise in live seafood (think: lobster and mud crab, abalone and pippies usually cooked with ginger and shallots or stir-fried with XO sauce) and banquet-style eating so it’s great for groups and even better when you can split the bill with eight others. Don’t be discouraged by the fact that none of the live seafood comes with a price tag (the ‘market price’ is usually reasonable when you compare it to good quality shellfish available around town). Just eat up and worry about possibly selling a non-vital organ to settle your bill later – the lobster with Sichuan sauce is well worth it.
Best dish: You can’t go past the lobster with garlic and shallots.
