Absolutely beautiful setting, immediately felt relaxed when entering into the restaurant. Wait staff was also professional and quick to respond. However it took 40 minutes for our fried squid, fries and pizza to arrive and the restaurant wasn’t even half full. Food was also quite ordinary.

Food tasted great, however the lamb was kind of a small serve for the price as a Main course. Waitress was polite and fun who make you felt welcomed.

This little restaurant is very close to my workplace, unfortunately lunch was very disappointing (not because of the quality of the food) 4 of the 5 at our table were given a meal at the same time. The waitress forgot to place the 5th order, unfortunately by the time the 5th meal had arrived, 4 of us had finished and the 5th meal then arrived. It was very frustrating as the table of 10 that arrived at the time the 4 of us were served our meals actually received their meals at the same time our No. 5 received hers, seems communication between waitress and kitchen was very lacking. Not one of us will be in a hurry to return. Accidents happen, however we were not even offered a discount to apologise for the mistake. I personally think they should not have charged the 5th person for the mess up or at the very least apologized for the mistake?

The restaurant has the appearance of wanting to be something special but it’s let down by a number of factors. The layout is split into two sides, one side being the cafe which is more open to the street and the restaurant is more closed in. However the main entrance to the restaurant side is next to a very loud bar, and it’s this noise that ruins the ambience of the restaurant, which mind you could be alleviated if the doors were closed instead of being left wide open. The staff seemed pleasant, but not attentive enough that we were left wanting, for example after we finished our main meals, we were left waiting for ages before some one came along to check on us to clear our table and check if we wanted dessert. It seems that staff at that time of the night were more concerned about setting up the tables for breakfast service in the morning than paying attention to the customers they had in the restaurant at the time. The food... wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t fantastic, it looked nice, some of what we had lacked flavour, the eggplant in the side dish was bitter, and the only stand out was the cauliflower side dish which we loved. Again, it has potential but tweaking is required and I would recommend that whoever is managing the restaurant have the all the dishes made on the menu for them to taste test and give feedback for dishes that aren’t quite working to bring them up from mediocrity to something special. In summary would we go back again, no, unless the mentioned issues were addressed, and again it has the capacity to be something special with fine tuning, but until then spend your money elsewhere.

Would have been good as food was tasty and well presented, but there was a big gap between service of 3 mains and the remaining main and side. First served meals were tepid by the time the rest came out.

Second time having dinner here within the week because it was so good. This time we ordered the prawns and the octopus for entree. I LOVE the prawns!! This is a must order. For mains I had the arancini, again another winning dish. We also had the vongole pasta and loved it too. Service was again friendly and engaging.

I had dinner here twice and breakfast every morning while we were staying at the hotel. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the chicken lemon thyme with chickpeas. So, so good. The crispy chicken skin made it even better! Service was impeccable. Loved the corner table that was reserved for us. We also had the pizza, barramundi and the Zaatar cauliflower. I cannot fault anything. All the dishes we had was on point. Well done Goldfinch.
