GOMA Executive Chef Douglas Innes-Will's approach to food combines modern, Australian-inspired cuisine with contemporary ingredients and techniques, focusing on locally sourced produce. Heading up the kitchen with Douglas are chefs Matt Blackwell and Michael Bickford, who previously worked alongside each other at Peter Gunn's Ides restaurant.

Service was impeccable. All food was fantastic with one exception (sorry, but I don’t like rare fatty lamb). Wine list was a challenge, but was able to select a good one with the meal. The hero of the night was the El Candado Sherry from Spain...heaven in a glass and completed a fantastic evening. Thank you GOMA!!!

A very special fine dining experience - service, ambience - and food - if only chef was a little lighter on the salt shaker! Strong recommendation that the salt addition is reduced significantly.

Access can be a little difficult. The restaurant entry is through the main entry to GOMA but the door was locked by the Gallery security and the maitre d' had to rescue us. Food is interesting and tasty. Small menu done well. Maitre d' excellent. "Modern elegance" is the ambience. Only one small negative- one of our party was enjoying the last sips of an excellent Pinot Gris when one of the young wait staff refilled the glass with a different wine.

On the decadent Modern Australian menu you will find the best of Queensland produce (majority of which are sustainable and organic).
