Great venue, fantastic outside area. Good food. Would recommend Habitue for casual dining with good friends. Well worth a visit.
The food was absolutely devine. Service was great. I would recommend to anyone
I love Habitue! The food is creative and scrumptious. They create mouthwatering meat dishes (especially the slow-cooked lamb shoulder is delectable) but it is their vegetable dishes that truly impress me by putting that vegie on a pedestal and giving it the chance to be the hero. For example imagine roasted spiced cauliflower florets and chickpeas placed in a sauce of almond cream and garnished with quenelles of fresh date. Oh my! But despite the food being exceptionally delish, my favourite part about this restaurant is the service: the warm, friendly welcome, the product knowledge, the perfect balance of attention and privacy to talk. On a warm Saturday night with the live jazz trio cooking up a storm, there is no finer place than a table in the front garden at Habitue. Do yourself a favour.
Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food.
Another excellent meal at this wonderful place! The food was beautiful, the menu is small but perfectly balanced so that the vegetable dishes complement any main. My wife and I chose from the days specials and were not disappointed! The service was excellent and the atmosphere created by the open fire, lighting and the live three piece jazz band was magical. I love walking into this place through the garden and being greeted at the desk always with a smile. We come here once or twice a year for special occasions and it is wonderful! We will be back.
Quaint little spot with lovely dishes to share.
Fantastic food and service. Highly recommended.
Superb family dinner. Couldn’t have been better if I’d travelled half way around the world looking for a lamb shoulder.
Lovely restaurant with great food and service, will definitely return
Excellent menu, interesting wine list and impeccable service made this a wonderfully enjoyable evening. Live Jazz Band added to the atmosphere but still very busy and noisy overall so not conducive to a quiet romantic evening. But if you are looking for high quality service and dining and a bit of noise doesn't bother you, go for this place, its great!
Beautiful meal once again, thank you
Always appreciate the friendly atmosphere and service, top food is always appealing! Thank you for another lovely night.
Lamb shoulder was delicious, as were the abundant vegetable dishes including brussel sprouts which were very tasty.
Some dishes excellent, some below average. You know the staff aren't paying attention to what the customer wants when you order the main course on condition that it doesn't include one of the ingredients on the menu and it is served with that ingredient.
From the minute we were greeted at the front door we felt like we were in the wrong place. I asked for a cozy corner table on reservation and got a table by the food service. Menu choice was basic. Prices were beyond expensive- we were told we.d get half a chicken for $36 and what we got was something that resembled a malnourished bird. Brussel sprouts were $16 under cooked and swimming in oil. When we were asked as we received the bill if we enjoyed our meal... we mentioned the high price of the beer and were told it's average for Perth... shame that the restaurant is in Freo... So incredibly underwhelmed and won't be going back.
Excellent service for a group of 15 (loud) adults. Food was fab and the atmosphere was perfect! Thank you!
Best restaurant in Perth, hands down, hurry up and get there.
Great night. Only comment would be the noise level but restaurant very busy so expected.
The only feedback is that I think the cutlery boxes they have on the tables are too big and in the way.
Wine list is pricey but the banquet meal is well worth the $60. Plentiful array of side dishes with lamb shoulder and chicken.

A place of pleasure
Habitue - meaning a visitor who frequents a place of pleasure - is bringing a touch of Mediterranean sunshine to north-Freo. This restaurant, housed within an inviting little cottage, has bags of personality and oodles of flavour. It is definitely a place to relax and enjoy beautiful food, good wine and chillaxed tunes. The menu features a delightful blend of sharing plates with everything from delicate soft shell crab to rich chargrilled cape grim sirloin on offer. Oh, and you can forget about ‘small plate syndrome’, all the servings are hearty and well equipped to feed everyone. Their live music scene is also a serious plus, get here on a Friday or a Saturday to be seduced by the in-house jazz band while you while away the hours with a glass of vino in hand.
Best Dish: Pine Smoked Chicken with tahini yoghurt & pomegranate.
