Had a lovely time at this great restaurant last night. The food was superb and the staff were delightful. The meal sizes were very generous, and couldn't manage to fit in dessert. Would definitely recommend this fantastic restaurant.

Outstanding service from Avid. He made my husband and I feel thoroughly welcome and I believe the other guests felt the same way! Escargots were excellent, and we loved the tarte flambee (st tropez, the one with marinated prawn cutlets and parsley and garlic oil). Spatchcock was good but not mind-blowing. Oven roasted duck was unfortunately a little overcooked and thus a bit too dry. We did feedback to Avid and he graciously thanked us for our feedback and said he would pass it on to the chef. We’d definitely come back though! My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves overall. Great ambience as well. There is a bit of a wait between appetisers/ entrees/ mains (we took about 1h 45min for our entire meal) but we didn’t mind as we were happily soaking in the atmosphere and enjoying a nice night out together! Also great to know that everything is being made fresh to order :) still highly recommended overall!

Love the atmosphere and décor at Haig Rd Bistro. The food was delicious and service very hospitable. We did BYO on a Thursday but the wine list looks good.

Took Mum there for my birthday and was disappointed as I read so many rave reviews about this place. The duck was over cooked and accompanied by a very sweet cabbage and cranberry side. Didn't go well with the duck at all. I also couldn't believe I charged for hot water! Unbelievable, won't be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience @ this neighbourhood gem. All courses were delicious, fresh, well presented and good value too. The friendly service was outstanding with added bonuses of BYO bottled wine on the quieter nights with a fair corkage fee and handy free street parking. Highly recommend :)

The restaurant has the lovely atmosphere and the service was great. When my partner’s steak was undercooked, they fixed the problem and even offered us the complementary drink. The portion size of dishes were generous as well. Highly recommended.

Mum and I were very impressed with the friendly service, relaxed and inviting decor and the tasty food (good sized portions). We sat near the window, which we would recommend. Absolutely loved the souffle and the gnocchi. A beautiful evening.

2nd Visit Not surprised that Arvid has worked at 5 star hotels and restaurants before after the customer service I experienced today was truly exceptional. Not that there was anything wrong with my last visit but my perception today was raised even more after he let me know a bit more about his past working experiences. I very much appreciated the hospitality again today :)

Excellent authentic French cuisine. Had a heavenly goats cheese soufflé (a must for cheese lovers). Barramundi was also beautiful. Quite large serves so I was very full. Wished I could have fit in a crepe suzette but will definitely try next time. Very warm, knowledgeable, efficient service. Due to the acoustics, the room gets very noisy when there’s a lot of people.

Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. The quality of the food and the presentation of the food was excellent. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere but it was very noisy even though there was only 1 table of 4 in the restaurant apart from our group of 5. We couldn't hear ourselves speak. Not pleasant. The acoustics is terrible, probably due to the high ceiling. It must be the restaurant because it was noisy when under previous management. Such a shame because the food and service was excellent.

My first ever experience at a French restaurant is one that I only have positive memories to take away after I left. The food was a good as it gets and I loved the presentation of it. I had the Escargot L 'Alsaciennce (Snails) Salmon Tarte Flambee & the Poulet A La Crapaudine (Chicken Spatchcock) The host Arvid was extremely professional and extremely friendly as well. He did an amazing job explaining the items on the menu and their history, helped me out a great deal when making selections and I was able to learn a lot more about French cuisine thanks to him. I also got to speak with him quite a bit through the night about Europe, every day life and even Star Wars. Thank you so much for the wonderful evening, I will definitely come back for more :)

The people were all very friendly and perfectly attentive, The owner made a special effort to talk with everyone. All the food was absolutely delicious and some lovely combinations I hadn't seen or tasted before. The food is quite light French. We certainly will be going again and have already recommended it to friends

Such a great find, the service was superb & so was the food. We had the gnocchi & the duck pate- very yummy. We watched the table next to us & the dishes that they ordered looked very appetizing. I so want to try them all!
