Been visting harajuku gyoza in brisbane since 2014. Have always been a big fan but in recently years found that their prices have risen and quality fallen. When I came across the promotion, I thought I would give it one more try. The service atleast in CBD is authentic and of a very high standard. Some dishes (the eggplant tempura) remain of a good quality however I did find that the pork gyoza's are not as good as they used to be. Prices are also a lot higher than before. Eg pork belly kakuni used to be $13 today it is $16. When you consider that a lot of the dishes prices have risen steeply, the overall cost of a meal rises in equal proportion. That said, still a great joint and recommend for special events and large group gatherings.

The gyozas we had (grilled duck and takoyaki) were very good - however, the chicken katsu curry was a little soupy and the fukujinzuke wasn’t very fresh. However, the meal was very nice overall.

It was a great restaurant and the food was made really well. There were many choices of gyoza that I would’ve liked to try. I liked the design of the restaurant too. Staff were very nice!

We had a Gyoza day. So many different types. We loved the cheeseburger one in particular, as well as the open Gyoza with the pork belly and pickled apple. The waitress was very kind and always smiling, which made our arvo an even better one

Not quite what I expected but more than satisfactory. I have been to the South Bank branch a lot of times and decided it's finally time to try the CBD & also Indooroopilly another time. When they say no 2 places are the same they are right, the same things are said when anyone enters and leaves the place but it's done in a normal voice. Not that there is anything wrong with it, I think I set my expectation vs reality meter a bit too high as I am a bit too used to a really loud, fun, exciting and hip atmosphere so I was a bit taken off guard by the queit and calm nature. I enjoyed the Gyoza I ordered, it was a little strange that the 2nd plate didn't arrive until 5 mins after the 1st plate even though I ordered them at the same time.

The food was delicious with lots of options for different flavoured dumplings. The staff were friendly, although seemed a little overwhelmed by a group of 8, so the service was a bit slow for lunch.

Very yummy Japanese, only bad comment I have is that the tempura was a bit oily but that would not stop me recommending or going back.

About the restaurant

If you hadn’t already guessed by the name - Harajuku Gyoza is OTT. Here at this wacky Japanese eatery in Brisbane’s CBD, filled with kitch and cuteness, they’re serving up premium gyoza (Japanese style dumplings). Sit up at the counter and watch the chefs labour with love over your gyoza before stuffing your face with those little bite-size rounds of goodness. Make sure you save room for the dessert gyoza - a tiny banana and Nutella crepe that is fried and served with ice cream. For the full experience make sure you try some of the many Japanese beers that are on offer. If you're after a fun, crazy, memorable night then this is the place.

Best dish: gyoza, gyoza and more gyoza.
