The burgers are great, but the service are close to none compare to couple weeks ago. The 1/2 price does not mean much given the lunch time special

The place is good for a team work lunch and my colleagues seemed to be indifferent about their food but definitely not somewhere to go if you're looking for a decent vegetarian option. The only burger option they have is a mushroom burger and it's dreadful. Barely any mushroom, no fillings and mostly all bun. The place is a good option for those looking for a cheap eat + an escape from the corporate CBD around them - but the menu probably needs some refining.

A very relaxed atmosphere and good burgers - particularly the beef burgers (I'd recommend those over the veggie burger). The atmosphere was quiet and low-key.

The burgers were good. Bread and fries not quite as fresh but it was still pretty good. Service was good too. All and all not bad

The $15 burger and beer lunch deal is far away the best in Melbourne. The burger is always cooked perfectly! Love it!

Lunch Special for $15 bucks is a steal. Nice Tasty burger (they have like 8 options, some with scottish traditional food like haggis or black pudding) , large serve of good string fries and a drink Can't go wrong with that. if you hungry at lunch, give it a go I don't believe they are staffed to handle a full house at lunch , but we had only 3 tables , so it was alright. Nice scottish girl did a great job. Will return for sure

About the restaurant

Melbourne's best kept secret

Nestled in a secluded leafy lane way, between the Rialto and the Aquarium, Highlander is one of Melbourne's best kept secrets. Open from noon until late Tuesday through to Friday, this fun and friendly venue is the ideal place for lunch, dinner, casual drinks or your next function - whatever the occasion may be. The decor has an industrial vibe which is softened by plush suede couches, bright patterned floor rugs and moody lighting. The menu is mostly finger food with an American edge - we love the tacos and the sloppy joe (braised wagyu brisket with pickled cabbage and mayo). You can’t leave without trying one of their killer cocktail jugs - the “Apple n Rhubarb Fizz” is dangerously delicious. They’ve got good food, good drinks and good fun on at the Highlander - what more could you want?

Best Dish: any of the burgers.
