Terrific value. We had the Sunday roast which started with pumpkin soup. Hoi Polloi is a well kept secret gem. It will go on our list of regular places to eat.

We were really happy with what we ate, the service was good, the surroundings were really good and historic. The location is really good for those who work in the Parliamentary triangle. We will be back.

So disappointed. The food was absolutely disgusting. The chicken schnitzel and chips, were obviously the frozen supermarket variety, just requiring heating. I’m not sure if the beer battered barramundi was actually cooked onsite, but the batter was overwhelming. The side salad, which had to be especially requested, was tasteless with no dressing. The lettuce was dry and the few bits of tomato were coated with some sort of powdery, I suppose, salad herbs - just horrible. I love food and will eat most things. I could not eat this. The”chef” saw that we had left the preponderance of our meal and were leaving without ordering coffee or desert. He asked if we’d had a problem with our meals and offered us free deserts. We refused and I know we will never return. The special event we were celebrating, was my 80th birthday. Our dining out experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons

Staff were really great and patient, but it was a little tricky for me to confirm precise numbers for the high tea before the day.

We were disappointed that there was no longer table service and this was not made clear to us on arrival. We had booked a table and as our numbers were reduced we were asked to sit at an unset table near the door. We waited over 45 minutes for our food which at lunch time we consider to be a bit long. Another table near us who arrived after us were serviced before us. However the price of food was good and delicious.

Thank you. My friend and I really enjoyed dining with you. We really appreciated the food, the spaciousness , the absence of music, the outside ambience, the friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely dine with you again

Noisy with large groups close by though there were some empty tables further down. They got my reservation wrong, gave our table away though we were on time, food was bland, plastic spoons with coffee. No spirits for drinks and it was self service ordering which we had to remind them of for our dessert. Outlook is very nice but never again. They need an overhaul as it is a great spot. Staff appeared to be weekend only and too few. Disappointing place for catch up with daughter.
