Holgate Brewhouse

We were a party of 11, and were pleased to be seated in a private room, the service was excellent and the food above average pub fare. Its good to see an old pub being so well restored. The beer was good too.

We were a group of 10 extended family. After attending an outdoor family event it was pleasant to continue in the ambiance of the Holgate. We were afforded a room to ourselves, out of the heat of the day. The ordering of food was an easy process and fitted the fact several individual family groups . Involved. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic venue with great character, food and drinks. Beautiful town and lovely people with an amazing atmosphere.

Great pub and excellent value for money. Not our first time and definately won't be our last time! Staff were very attentative and friendly. Beer brewed on site is excellent!

Great service, lovely pints, nice relaxed atmosphere. Food was delish too, definitely recommend. The building has kept a lot of the original features so looks the part

We had a a great meal today to celebrate a birthday. Delicious food and good service. Loved the beer tasting plate. It was a hot day and the room we were in probably needed an overhead fan to move the air around, as it started to feel a bit stuffy. Didn’t love the pesky flies. Overall, though, we had a nice visit.

The food was amazing. Best Chicken Parma I've had for a while . Calamari salad was delicious. Staff were warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

A fantastic place to eat and sample the many beautiful beverages on offer. Its not far away from anywhere and well worth a deviation on any trip. Will definitely be back.

The service great good wine & beer the hamburger was raw in the middle undercooked Another person had calamari salad but disappointed with the salad just salad leaves . The other 2 meals were good.

Traditional and delicious pub food with a limited but perfectly adequate menu. The kids options are great (even a gluten free fish and chips was catered for) but perhaps order an extra side of chips, if your kids have a healthy appetite!

Great concept. Wasn’t aware there was no table service. Room was loud. Beers in Paddle presented very well with comprehensive tasting notes. First time there. Would have expected to be greeted and explained where tasting room was and how it all worked. Other than that. Would recommend.

We really loved our night at Holgate brewery Chicken Parma was the best ever. The staff were busy but super friendly and the place had an awesome vibe. The Long Island iced tea was excellent and really great selection of local wines. Can’t wait to stay again

Great beer, but don’t waste your time and money on the food. Sadly this place is all about the beer. We found hamburgers tasteless and covered in too much sauce.

We had a toddler with us ... maybe crayons at the table so they can draw while waiting for chippies ... although we were in a room with other parents we were mortified if he made a noise ... appreciate a small distraction being provided

Lovely casual atmosphere, good quality and quantity of food, good service. Good local beer and wine selection. We enjoyed our lunch and would go again.

Unfortunately due to the online booking system supposedly not working properly, our booking of 6 people was not honoured and we were told that our booking had not been placed. Pretty disappointed, when i had 3 small children and elderly parents to then have to find an alternative for a lunch venue. Highly recommend getting your bookings organised, especially in light of the increase in customers to the area.

Beer tasted great, well what we could get was great. They ran out of quite a few and then tried to charge me twice. Lengthy wait for food but at least we were told it was going to be 40 min wait. (we waited 50-60mins for all meals) Once arrived Parma and fish were great! Steaks looked fantastic but were not cooked as asked, still ate them as we were starving and no staff around to comment immediately. They came and cleared 2 out of 6 plates after we ate and then we never saw anyone again. Service definitely needs improving in the restaurant and bar area, putting more staff on would also help. Might go back one day for the beer, maybe.

Great food, friendly staff and great beer. Was a great place to enjoy lunch outside with family and friends. Parmas were delicious and kids meals were a great size.

Food was awful, Rosemary chips came with not a hint of Rosemary or salt. Disgusting. Only bonus was drinks. After the many times we attended this was an EXTREME let down.

We wanted to visit country Victoria for lunch and Holgate Brewhouse one of few places open. Mediocre reviews but we took a chance. Service was immediate, the place was buzzing, our food choice was delicious and we enjoyed our wine. Was excellent and we’ll visit again.
