We came for lunch today and were once again happy. Staff were friendly and service was excellent. Menu choices suited our family of 4. All meals were served quickly and were delicious! Thank you once again Homestead Brewery at Mandoon Estate. We will be back.

Started with great and friendly staff. Service was polite and quick. Food was excellent and serving size was modest. The beer was ok too. Better to make a booking as the place filled up quickly.

We had a large group booking. Food was mostly good but the service was lacking. We picked a quiet time around 3pm and when the restaurant was almost empty, the waitresses were busy socialising with each other instead of serving. The attitude from some of the team when taking food and drinks orders was disgraceful. They forgot a large drink order we had placed, didn’t replace cutlery on the table after they had cleared them so we had to ask for cutlery when our mains arrived. One of the team even had the audacity to tell us that we couldn’t add any ice cream to our dessert orders if we didn’t tell her there and then. This was paid additional ice cream, not free throw in ice cream. Some of the service team need to be re-educated on their roles and responsibilities and tone down the sass when they are asked to do their actual job and it wouldn’t kill them to answer questions politely and behave like they don’t hate their job.

Food was lovely, service was helpful and patient with our disorganised table. Only suggestion for improvement is to ensure service doesn't wane as closing time approaches. Also enable ordering a kids meal to come out with mains instead of with entree.

Great food, casual setting that filled up fast and had a great vibe for a sunny weekend lunch.

The service was a little slow even though the restaraunt was pretty empty. Asked for no tomato in the burger and it came with tomatoes (which I know can be picked out but when you ask for no whatever in the dish it could be for an allergy) the burger was awesome though and same with the fish & chips. Nice selection of drinks & a nice view of the winery grounds.

Lovely location! Ordered 2 spiced squid & 1 spiced chicken, waitress brought 2 chicken & 1 squid. Meals arrived within 5 minutes indicating they were microwaved, chicken was awful! Wine good. Expensive for a third-rate meal.

Sadly, the fish and chips were overdone and when replaced were replaced by fish that was again overcooked. The pasta was a bit chewy but a very tasty dish. I was expecting better quality. I couldn't fault the lovely service or the beautiful view and atmosphere.

Was very busy at the time, however the fish & chips were just ‘ok’ this time - food has always been superb in the past - a little greasy this time.

I had the Squid with salad. I didn't think 8 small pieces of squid was good value for money, this is usually what I receive for a starter size. The salad was also very overdressed and oily, I couldn't eat much of it. I've eaten here before and had delicious mussels and I was happy with that meal. This time was a disappointment. However the service is really great and wines are lovely. I would return.

The Homestead Brewery was a relaxed dining experience which was so appreciated but had great food, drinks and service. In an amazing location and the grounds of Mandoon Estate were so beautiful and tranquil. Our first visit to Mandoon Estate but we will be back!

Home away from home.

A short thirty minute drive out of the city, in the relaxed town of Caversham you’ll find at great space that is Homestead Brewery. The high ceilings combined with steel fittings and wooden tables make this space very comforting. If you’re visiting in the colder months, you’ll find the crackling fire absolutely inviting, while in summer the spray misters outside will leave you feeling cool and crisp.

The menu consists of small snacks as well as pizza’s and substantial meals. However you’re stomach is feeling, there’s something on the menu that’s perfect for you.

Best dish: Wagyu burger - cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickle, house made ketchup, chips.
