Hungry Duck in Berry never disappoints. Great food, attentive service and a simple, stylish space to enjoy a lovely meal.

Great food. Shocking service. Please ensure staff at least can pronounce the name of the dishes and have a general knowledge of what is on the menu! This was our third visit but I don’t think there will be a fourth unfortunately : (
Hi Matthew, We are extremely disappointed to see that you did not enjoy your dining experience with us. Looking back at our records and roster, I realised that we had a new staff member look after you that night - and I apologise for her inexperience in pronouncing the dishes. We hope that you can give us another chance, and if you let us know when you will be dining next (fingers crossed) we will ensure that you have a wonderful experience. Kind regards,

Really poor experience. We came for my birthday as a group of five. The service was extremely slow and after 90 minutes we were still waiting on mains. As we were dining with my toddler, we decided to call it quits after asking repeatedly how far away our meals were and being told it would be a few minutes. We were sitting near the counter and it was clear other patrons were also frustrated by the slow turnaround on food. Would not recommend. I didn’t get to eat dinner on my birthday and nor did my family. Very disappointing. We won’t be going back.

Had fabulous comments and referrals about this place. Mixed for me - lovely, courteous and polite staff (one new guy was having a little difficulty but could not fault his desire to serve. Found some dishes a little disappointing but generally very tasty. Loved the shashimi and crab ravioli (more a dumpling but yummy)- disappointed in pork buns and duck rolls but can't please everyone all the time. A pleasant evening, food and service

About Hungry Duck

South for the winter The gentle rolling hills of Berry are a popular destination for city slickers wanting a bit of green and fresh air – and eateries like Hungry Duck are an equally motivating reason to head south for the winter – or any time of year, for that matter. Hungry Duck is helmed by chef David Campbell whose impressive cooking pedigree includes stints at Wockpool and Billy Kwong. As the name implies, duck features heavily on the menu, with duck three ways (duck spring roll, rare caramelised breast meat and a crisp Szechuan peppered leg) a hit with regulars. Open 6 days for dinner only (no BYO Friday and Saturday), bookings are essential if you want the opportunity to try the Jervis Bay squid chips, crab ravioli, wok-fried saltbush lamb or the Wagyu cheek and tail dumplings. As you can see, the menu is a paean to fresh, local produce cooked in traditional Asian style with a welcome twist. Leave room for dessert, though – you won’t want to miss out on the kaffir and Tahitian lime tart or the warm chocolate fondant with strawberry and lychee sorbet. This cosy diner even has an outdoor area, perfect for summer dining. Best dish: Duck spring rolls
