The experience was amazing. The wait staff were helpful and guided you through the experience that is yakatori. The cocktails were to die for and so was the food. I couldn't wait to try the sister restaurant of Etsy at mermaid and Kommune at Burleigh and it lived up the the expectation plus more. Such a cosy chilled environment cannot wait to go back !

We enjoyed the food and excellent drinks list and our servers were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. However, the seating arrangement seriously detracted from our enjoyment. Our group of 4 was in a booth that’s designed for cross-legged seating. On the upside, the rustic recycled timber contributes to Iku’s fabulous ambience and the solid wood partitioning between booths provides for privacy. However, the booths are too small to sit comfortably in for two hours. Patrons are provided with a thin leather pad under their bottom and at their back but one’s ankles come in contact with hard planks. We all ended up very fidgety, constantly shifting our weight and trying to find a position that was comfortable. I’d love to see more padding, more room in the booth or, better still, convert them to tables. I hope I’m not being a stick in the mud. It was still a fun night with friends and we’ll be back - just not in a booth. How does one book a table at the couch near the bar?

The overall experience was really good. We got the NYE set menu. I've wanted to choose the set menu because the courses included looked good prior to booking it. There were a couple of changes in the dishes upon our arrival which didn't get explained or clarified. There was chicken liver parfait to start with, but we end up getting spiced edamame spread to dip with chips. Another dish that made me decided to book for the set menu was the kingfish sashimi w/yuzu soy, but it came out at salmon sashimi w/ yuzu soy instead. Lastly our dessert was just a glass of umeshu (plum wine) each, which we thought were the dessert. However we had friends on the other table getting a different option for dessert which was the wasabi ice cream and they didn't get asked about, it just came as that option. I'm not sure exactly how the dishes are different per table? Maybe because I substituted my half of the main as fish rather than steak. But I didn't know that was going to change the other options of the set menu completely. There weren't clear explanation on how my diet substitute option would affect other dishes. The customer service was funky and creative in their sailor moon theme. Good effort

Friendly staff, very good at up-selling. Made us feel bad for not ordering more. Expensive dinner for a Yakitori Bar. Left the restaurant still feeling hungry. Small portions. Cannot compare with Japan!

After our many adventures through Japan, we developed a serious addiction to the abundance of delicious Yakitori Bars scatted throughout each area. The smell, the taste and the sound of the burning chicken juices dripping onto piping hot Binchotan charcoal.... Ahhhhh... I'm hungry just thinking about it!!!
