Fabulous
Lovely place great prawn past!
Great food and environment
The restaurant and staff were welcoming and accommodating as always. Our order was provided promptly and was up to their usual standard. It is a great venue to catch up with colleagues.
The restaurant did not disappoint, staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was most enjoyable. We’d a great time and will return.
When i arrived I was immediately welcomed with a big smile, the food was fantastic and the service was friendly while also still allowing us to go at our own pace. Would definitely go back
Nice food, prompt friendly service. Very nice to a 4 year old boy who is bored easily. Very happy with experience
A very good Italian restaurant in hardware lane... both adults and children loved the food and the restaurant itself. A great address !!
Great place, nice atmosphere, great service
very dissapointing in the end. Wife and i chose antipasto meat platter to share as an entree. I can get better quality cold meats and salamis from my supermarket.Four very small pieces of, i think, foccacia and four grissini sticks. Bread pretty much the same texture as the grissini. Wife had wood fired pizza. She was presented with a steak knife prior to meal . A little odd we thought; until the pizza came out. The steak knife was needed, but even then it was a struggle to cut.Flavours were good, but unless you like your pizza well cooked and a crust as crunchy as a Dorrito....... I had the risotto with porcini mushrooms, truffle oil and parmigano. Very small serve..Truffle oil was definitely present. Not sure what the mushrooms were. Could have been porcini, maybe out of a tin. Maybe that's why i didn't recognise them. Cheese?Seasoning? I was offered extra parmesan, but after seeing what had been offered to another table,I declined. We would have liked to have had a glass of wine, but at $15 a glass for house wine we decided not too..The cheapest bottle they had was also the house wine at $60. We had lemon, lime and bitters in the end. Very nice.. The scure should really read 3/10
Great place for a meal. Staff were friendly and the food was great. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to have a good meal whilst discovering Melbourne.
Overall we had a lovely meal and experience at this restaurant. Service was friendly and attentive. Our waiter was happy to make suggestions and we rated the food nice, not brilliant for the price but perfectly acceptable given that Hardware Lane is a pretty competitive place to have a restaurant. My only negative, was the amnesia the restaurant had when it came to applying the Fork discount on the food but when pointed out, it was immediately sorted. All up - a good night out.
Have been here many times. Food is always good. Love the Nero D’avola wines. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx
The food was delicious with a great Italian vibe. Felt like we were in a restaurant in Rome. Great location and the staff were friendly. The arancini and lasagna- deliziosi!
Il Nostro Posto serves really nice food in one of Melbourne's buzzing laneways. They always seem to have genuine Italian floor staff, helping to make the experience a little more 'exotic'
Device was very slow at the start. Improved after I had to ask for drink menu
I did like the atmosphere, the welcoming was fine and I felt comfortable dining alone. The food was nice and the presentation good, however taking the order was slow even though I was dining early (5.30 pm) and the restaurant was only half full. The wait service was again slow to clear the table and take any further orders for dessert/coffee. The discount made up for the slow service.
The food was tasteless and overpriced. Ordered the Porcini e Tartufo pizza - complete disaster. The mushrooms were slimy and look like they were off. There was excess liquid on the pizza from the mushrooms which made the pizza soggy and wet. Also ordered the "Signature Dish - Linguine al Cartoccio (Seafood) Marinara" - terrible choice as well. The sauce was tasteless and the calamari was rubbery. Whoever cooked it had no idea of what the dish is meant to taste like. On the other hand, service and location were good.
Friendly service. Tasty pasta for the kids.
Great night thank you!
Very fresh ingredients and authentic food.

We’ve got a beauty
Hardware lane is Melbourne’s quintessential strip of restaurants and part of what makes it such a European city. Here, people dine outside under the city lights in fragrant night air. Il Nostro Posto fits right in to the scene, with its Mediterranean style alfresco setting and warm snuggly interior. Come in to find an atmosphere of European finesse, just the right mood for lazy romantic dates and delicious food. Il Nostro Posto’s cuisine hails from the football island to Italy’s boot, Sicily. They do all the pizza and pasta favourites seasoned with fresh herbs, vegetables, melty Italian cheeses and savoury meats. We just love the original speck pizza, with its two types of cheeses, smoked pork belly and brightened with pear. The pasta dishes include one of this restaurant’s signatures: a baked seafood pasta marvel. You’ll also have to try their traditional Sicilian seafood pie made from fresh seafood lovingly wrapped in pizza dough. There are so many treats on the menu we don’t know where to stop recommending them! Best thing to do is just head over for yourself. Deliciousness and great ambience guaranteed.
Best dish: "Guazzetto in Crosta” the seafood pie
