There were 4 of us. The lovely waitress welcomed us warmly and changed our reserved table to one with more room. Despite having all the tables of a full house on her own she looked after us well. Our meal was lovely. I always have a pasta but the veal eaters enjoyed their meal. It’s now on our favourites list.

I returned with a friend after experiencing a fantastic meal last week. Again great value due to the generous The Fork discount. We were welcomed back warmly like regulars, and although only one person to look after the 6 or so tables and busy take away pizzas we were well looked after. The veal lemone was a nice meal, the seafood pasta average but it had to compete with the fantastic Arbariata of last week which was the best ever..next time. We will be back.

Oh dear, what can I say? The evening was a complete disappointment. The service was slow & with only one main server for the dining area, they seemed woefully unprepared for a Saturday evening. We waited over 20 minutes before even being asked for drinks & a meal of entree and main took over an hour and a half to be served. The food was just unsatisfactory ... no other word for it. I ordered bruschetta and it arrived as chopped tomato and onion on bread - no basil, no EVOO and it was (for me) barely edible. The garlic bread had no garlic and only a drizzle of oil - it was mostly bare bread. The entree calamari came with a pile of chips and no salad (as listed), which we never would’ve ordered had we known it had only chips. In the mains, I ordered the lamb cutlets - the lamb was nice but again, there was no salad (as listed) and a few steamed vegetables were added as substitute. The mint yogurt listed with the lamb was a no-show - it was another substitute, with the same aoili served with the calamari. Lamb and a vinegar based aoili was not a pleasant combination. The calamari main (for our daughter) again had no salad, just a pile of chips. The drinks were almost satisfactory but mistakes were again made. My husband & I both ordered sparkling water but only one of us received a glass. I asked for sliced lemon with the sparkling water and was given a shot of lemon cordial. It was difficult to approach the server about any of the issues as she was clearly trying to manage the front-of-house practically on her own. Even making payment took a long time as mid-transaction she had to repeatedly leave the desk to continue service to tables. I am struggling to find positives with the experience other than that the server was polite. We literally did not finish any of our food so I was honestly frustrating to even to have had to pay for this meal. It felt like they were completely out of their depth last night. Most of the items we ordered had substitutions - and not suitable substitutions - and we were not informed of any changes prior to ordering. If we had been told, we would have changed most of the items order. Several times during the evening we came close to walking out and I now wish we had actually done so. Based on our experience, it was disappointing all round. I could not recommend this dining experience to others.

Our dinner was totally disappointing as it took some time for our order to be taken for drinks and Mains. Entree took an hour to come out. Ordered Lamb Cutlets - herb rubbed lamb cutlets on a rocket and mix leafs with warm wild rice, cherry tomatoes, roasted seeds and nuts, finished with minted yogurt....instead was served lamb cutlets with mashed potatoes, undercooked carrots and beans with a side bowl of mayonnaise...would not have ordered this main if I was told they had run out of certain ingredients. Would definitely not go back in a hurry.

We took advantage of a special offer through TheFork and we were very pleased we did. Great food and service on a busy Saturday night. Can't remember the last time I had a reasonably priced meal in a restaurant that wasn't too noisy for conversation. Loved it! We will definitely be back.

Don’t bother to dine at this establishment. If you want to know why, read on: Fooled by “Our Story” on Il Portico’s website, we made a booking through Fork’s 50% off offer to take out our three children for an authentic Mediterranean experience. We were sorely disappointed! We arrived at the appointed time on Saturday night. The restaurant had a closed sign. We had to knck on the door for the lady inside to open and apologised saying she had forgotten the booking. We entered and were shown a table. Looking out, one could see the greasy, dirty glass looking out to the street. We ordered some adult and some kids meals. The arancini balls were some sort of factory made rice mash on a bed of industrial mayonnaise reeking of fake garlic flavour. They were a hit with the kids who loved their steely exteriors but my partner and I who were more seasoned diners were not impressed the other entree of prawns in tomato juice was ok but positively swimming in a bowlful if onion and tomato purée and so salty you struggled to find any flavours. The kids pasta came next, some sort of nuked abomination mascarading as spaghetti bolognese which took most of our meal to cool down, with another meal of fish and chips with what was clearly frozen battered fish and frozen fries. The adults had ordered a veal with mushroom sauce which on arrival comprised a couple of grey looking over cooked tasteless slices of meat on a bed of mushroom goo. The Angus need ordered medium rare arrived overdone and dry complete with gristle. Our drinks were not much better with the red wine clearly from a bottle that had been airing for some days. We respectfully noted these to the single waiter for the evening whose only response was to say sorry and ask if we wanted her to give feedback to the chef! We passed on dessert and headed home. All in all, we paid over $105 (half price) for this dubious experience.

Four friends had a lovely dinner on a fairly busy Saturday night. We were welcomed warmly by our lovely host who continued to look after us well and keep in touch all night. One serve of garlic bread was hot, tasty and very generous- enough for a slice each. The pastas Carbonara and Araibiata was voted fantastic. The lamb cutlets were large and juicy but a plain 'home cooked' but nice meal. As we had the generous discount from The Fork it was amazing value. Having read some bland review we were hesitant, but after a great meal we will now be regulars.
Gud evening sir Thanku so much for your comment. Our pleasure to have you and you like food and service.
