8/10Have been here in years passed and decided to try again. Main was delicious and service quite good. Kulfi dessert was not authentic though. Flavoured ice cream at best.

10/10I loved the atmosphere and the manager of this beautiful restaurant. this place had delicious foods; I highly recommend tandoori gobi and grilled fish. the vegetable samosa, lamb vindaloo and chaat masala were also delicious (things my friends ordered). this was my first time trying Indian cuisine, and this place was the perfect beginning/entry point into south Asian cuisine.

9.5/10Been coming for years. Very consistent food and amazing flavours. Dine in is always a pleasant experience. Stand outs: tandoori aloo, lamb korma, Palak Paneer and breads are always very fresh. Very well balanced flavours. Only thing I could ask that curry portions be increased as they are so delicious.

10/10We have been going to Indian Star for years and have always been delighted with the food and service. If you want an Indian evening out with great food and a cosy, romantic atmosphere, look no further. It's great for families, too. It continues to be our favourite Indian restaurant!

10/10We have been wanting to go here for ages and are so glad we finally did. The curries we got (chicken tikka, lamb vindaloo, butter chicken and beef vindaloo) were excellent but the real winner were the naans - they were the fluffiest ones we have ever had. We will definitely be coming back.

10/10Finally made to Indian star! And we weren’t disappointed. Friendly and accommodating staff. We had 2 kids but we wanted to try the banquet and they were happy to accommodate them. The food was amazing, my 8-year-old daughter kept saying it was delicious!

4.5/10Onion bhaji was made with brown onion instead of red onion and found hair in spinach bhaji too. All the main course were served nicely but the waiter kept dusting the couch with the cushion which was bit awkward and noisy

10/10One of the best Indian restaurants in Melbourne. Food is always of the best quality. We have never had a bad meal. Although BYO, the wines are not expensive. It’s not extensive but there is something for everyone. Great value for money to boot. Would highly recommend.

A shining star in Moonee Ponds. The awarding-winning Indian Star in Moonee Ponds has becom a local beacon, continuously serving fine traditional Indian cuisine. The family run joint focuses on quality dishes that are textural, vibrant, flavoursome and diverse. The menu is a combo of mild North Indian dishes and spicer Southern Indian flavours. If you're unfamiliar with Indian food go for the chef's recommendations that are dotted throughout the menu - you can't go wrong. If you're coming with a big group have a look at the banquet menus which offer a great mixture of dishes for a reasonable price. For an authentic night filled with flavour and fun try this star of a restaurant. Best dish: lamb tikka
