Food was amazing and staff was warm and friendly. It was a great catch with friends over great food. Been here a few times and has not been disappointed once. Highly recommended.
Great food and service. Unique take on modern Indian
The food was amazing with the right amount of flavoursome heat, the service was top notch with the teams knowledge of wine excellent helping pair with the food. An intimate spot great for a date night or catch up with mates.
Pretty disappointed. Food was very expensive for the quality. Setting and service was good - no issues to note. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place to others. You could easily find a much better meal elsewhere for a lot cheaper.
We had our lunch at Ish and it was a tremendous experience of Indian fine dining. Service is A-class and food was delicious. Must try tandoori chicken tikka & butter chicken. Gulab Jamun tiramisu is special to finish with something sweet. Thank you for beautiful experience Ish. We will be back again.
Great service and great, friendly people)! food is good and innovative with Indian influence.it is a sort of fusion that I never tried and it worths the value to taste, I was suggester to try thy the duck and it was fantastic. Even the selection of wines by the glass was very interesting: I'll go there again.
We found Ish after reading reviews online and were not disappointed. It is situated on a gorgeous Melbourne Street called Gertrude in Fitzroy.. The building is very pretty and has had a thoughtful fit out. We took our son for dinner for his 25th birthday tonight and the food, ambience and service were outstanding. It was recommended to choose one dish from three parts of the menu for our party of three and this was the perfect amount of sharing plates for us. We enjoyed the eggplant, potato dumplings, moelli curry, naan bread & rice - all delicious. We also shared a baked coconut cake for dessert. The attention to detail by the maitre’d, his friendliness and professionalism carried down throughout our wait staff. We look forward to our next visit when we’re back down from Sydney. 10/10!
A beautiful meal!
Faultless, went their with high hopes and were not disappointed, will definitely be going back, special mention to Juan and Giuseppe. Thank you for your hospitality.
The welcome and explanation of the menu and assistance with food choices was friendly, measured and accurate. Really nice people here. Wine list was exceptional across the range with plenty of “by the glass” choices. Food high flavour values. Really enjoyed this place.
Amazing food. Atmosphere and staff not inviting. Definitely recommend the beef curry. Drinks were over priced. Location is great if you want to start your night in Collingwood.
Busy place but the acoustics were great so the noise levels were fine. Extremely delicious & creative food. Very generous servings. Lovely unaffected service.
We are visiting from Sydney and were blown away by the whole Ish dining experience. Loved how it isn’t the usual run of the mill Indian. The food is the notch above and delicious. The eggplant is amazing, as were the prawns, the beef curry (couldn’t believe the v generous serving) and the butter chicken with a twist. Absolutely delicious! Great atmosphere too. Highly recommended - please open another one in Sydney!!
We could not fault the food, wine and the service.
With all the amazing reviews couldn't wait to try ISH. Reserving a table was easy online, after we tried to call several time with no response, although it seems that you can't make a reservation between 6:30 and 8:30pm. That suited us fine though. Services was top notch. The wait staff was very attentive and really made us feel like they cared. You'd think that's normal, but they really went above and beyond. They recommended us to share one dish of each section (small, middle and large) between the two of us, which we did and that was definitely enough. We started with the duck pate, which was lovely. I personally wasn't a fan of the brussels sprout mustard achar, but my boyfriend loved that. Then we had the tempura eggplant, which was nice, but couldn't convince me, especially not for $20 (3 pieces of eggplant). Then we had the butter chicken, with rice, garlic naan and again the brussels sprouts. We had taken the brussels sprouts as a side dish as they recommended it, but we didn't realise it we would get it with the pate also (and I didn't like it that much). After these three dishes we were pretty full, but the desserts sounded amazing so we wanted to try. We had the Indian filter coffee panna cotta. The flavour was nice, but it was very dry, so maybe it would've been nice with some kind of sauce or something through it. We had two signature cocktails, both were brilliant - the kambipura sour and the Indian elixir. Really, really good. All and all we had a lovely dinner for $130, which I think is very good value for money.
I read reviews before going and ish really outdid my expectations! Am looking forward to going back soon! Worth every penny.
Improved a lot from my first visit. Will be back
Excellent modern twist on Indian food. Food was sensational. Service and atmosphere is great. Exceptional place to dine, highly recommended.
Got served wrong dish Beef curry was too salty still a good place.
Enjoyed being surprised by creative interpretations of otherwise traditional dishes. Impressed!
