Very welcoming for families with young children. However, as the seating is quite close be prepared to overhear other tables (and for comments on kiddos!). Food pricing is per the suburb (on the higher side) but the quality matches up so imo good value.

Food was good and authentic. Ambience was lovely. The restaurant was busy with catering that night and there were delay with some of the food items, which was fine with our family - we understand. We'll be back and try other items in the menu.

We came back to try a lot more things tonight as we had four people. We ordered a range of dishes and they were all great. The sushi and sashimi boat was well presented with good range of maki, nigiri, and sashimi. The cooked dishes included Samana Don (kingfish with rice) - the piece of fish was a bit smaller than last time, karra age fried chicken(always lots of pieces), agedashi tofu (four pieces in a serve), some fried noodles (enough to share with four), tempura (three prawns and a large range of veggies), katsu Don with curry (again enough for 2-3 people), croquettes, unagi nigiri (great serving size for 2-3 people), aburi tuna (enough to share with 2-3), and inside out salmon maki. All dishes were a good size and allowed us to try a piece of everything. We finished off with a banana fritter and daifuku. The restaurant was very busy that night so taking an order took a little while but after that the food started to flow quickly. Audrey the waitress was rushed off her feet but still found time to check in with us whether everything was okay and ensure that our bottle of water was refilled. Overall great value and good serving sizes to share with a group, making this one of our favorites. Just make sure you bring a group of four or more so you can try everything!

This is an amazing restaurant in Ivanhoe and is a hidden gem. The food is so fresh and prepared so well and delicious - we had the sashimi deluxe and i never knew scallops and octopus could be prepared this way and taste so good. Definitely coming back for more !!!

This is our third visit now and we have found the food to be consistently good and service by Audrey to be great. Even though she was the only one serving that night she continuously acknowledged us when we made a request and came back to us quickly afterwards. She even remembered one of the diners needed to have a pot of hot water to drink when dining - that’s great service. The restaurant for a Tuesday was quite busy and despite this all meals arrived quickly after ordering and were a good size. We had tempura prawns which did not have any oily residue making for great tasting prawns, a bento box, teriyaki chicken main (plenty to share amongst two people and tasty), and some maki rolls. All well presented and tasty. If you’re near Ivanhoe and want some great Japanese food Issho is your go to.

Great range of options including gluten free for those who cannot take gluten based foods. Service was a bit mixed as an order made by those who arrived early was forgotten however came out quickly when we asked for it again. Recommend kingfish with rice, tempura (great value with three prawns and a heap of vegetables) and fried chicken. Sashimi was good however the tuna was not that fresh leaving a sour taste. Overall with the fork discount a good place for some local Japanese food.

Good variety of sushi and sashimi options. We had the udon and steak for mains which were delicious. It was a busy night and they forgot an entree which was cancelled later as we were ready for dessert.
