This place was a very pleasant surprise. My sister chose this to have her birthday lunch and quite frankly I’m not sure it would have been my choice. The fact that it is in a busy shopping area and smack bang in the middle of a car park doesn’t speak to a nice ambience. But the wonderful staff and inexpensive, but extremely delicious food were the stand outs. The bar and wait staff couldn’t do enough for you and were polite and helpful. The salad bar was fresh and a very tasty and satisfying $6 sticky date pudding sealed the deal.

A group of five adults and two 3 year olds ate at Jack Caddy's yesterday for a birthday lunch. The food was delicious and very generous portions however it was a very limited vegetarian selection (two of us were vegetarian and one couldn't eat mushrooms). Highchairs were provided for the kids, as requested, and, in general, everything went swimmingly. However, I must comment that, although the waitress was quite efficient, a round the table survey and all agreed she was either having a really bad day, didn't like bookings with young children, or was working for the money rather than any enjoyment she could have received from positive interaction with the patrons. To be fair, this was our first visit to this restaurant and her attitude may have been out of character on this occasion, but she certainly made us feel uncomfortable for having disturbed her afternoon.
