We ate here to celebrate my daughter’s 21st. Sadly the mains that 3 of us ordered were not available. We were compensated with 3 complimentary cocktails. I found both courses salty, but overall a great time was had my all.

A main of a Prawn Tortellini was served cold and then another serving came out with uncooked prawns. Waitress advised that Apprentice staff on duty with no Head Chef or Owner. Was given a free glass of $8 wine to compensate for no meal. Was not charged for main meal nor should I have been as I did not receive one. Left Restaurant with a bill for $80 still feeling hungry and very disappointed. Will not be going there again.
Hi Linda Occasionally we do get it wrong, we would again like to apologies for your experience last night. I'm glad the the restaurant assistant manager who was working did apologies and ensured you were not charge for your meal in addition to offering a glass of wine also. I believe they also offered to organised another meal. I have also spoken with the Sous chef who also work last night.

One of the diners ordered the pancakes advertised with “berries” - only had 1 strawberry cut into 4 - a bit short on the berries. Otherwise food was very good as usual.

Service was amazing and we fit in a 3 course meal before our movie, food was fantastic and there was little wait on the food. The dessert blew mine and my partners mind! highly recommend

Order the Cape Grim steak - cooked well, but at the end of the day for the price, it was just a steak, salad and chips that could be purchased anywhere. Might need to rethink that menu item - certainly didn't think it was up to the regular Jam standards.

Since the opening of Bridge Water the menu seems to have stepped back in a level of quality, especially with the list of mains to choose from.

About Jam Restaurant

Pump up the Jam The name Jam Corner may well conjure up images of cardigan-clad Women’s Institute matrons bottling for the local fete, but clearly that’s not the case at this popular Townsville eatery. Chef Matt Merrin and his team have a trophy cabinet full of awards to prove that their approach to dining is spot-on. Claiming to serve ‘Townsville’s best coffee’ Jam Corner kicks things off with a seasonal breakfast menu featuring fare such as Queensland avocado on wholegrain sourdough with whipped marinated Danish feta, cinnamon pancakes with butterscotch pears, and savoury fried tofu with lap cheong, scrambled egg and ginger caramel. For lunch and dinner they move on to tapas with more-ish sounding Thai prawn and ginger rolls, or the degustation option with 5 courses which changes with the seasons. They even have a dedicated vegetarian menu which is not just the normal menu with the meat removed – vegos actually have four entrée and three main dishes to choose from. No wonder it’s a hit with locals and visitors alike. Best dish: Bangalow pork belly, apple & wasabi gel, pressed apple
