Meet the Chef

Starting his apprenticeship in 1990 at Clover Cottage in Berwick, Jason Bradford then worked at The Sofitel in Melbourne and Chapel Street. This stepping-stone gave Jason the experience needed to follow his dream in opening his own restaurant. In 2008 Jason’s Terrace was sold to give way for his third restaurant, then after nine years then decided it was time to move to the stunning 1920 heritage property in upper Beaconsfield as Jason’s Restaurant at Bradford Estate winery.

Really lovely setting and great food. Can’t single out anything from the tasting menu for special mention since everything we had was delicious! A very special place we will return to! The sunset from the deck was pretty stunning too!

Young crew but the service was very very good, pleasant and attentive. Food was delicious. Loved the way the soft-shell crab was presented keeping it crunchy from kitchen to mouth. Will have to go back, day time, to enjoy the views and the estate.

We visited Jason’s for Fathers Day on this occasion. As always, we were welcomed by the wonderful host, Adrianna. The food was absolutely delicious, like always. I had the scallops for entree and the duck in pastry for main. Absolutely delicious. For dessert to top it off, a wonderful creme brûlée with a hint of Jerusalem artichoke. Genius. The service was exceptional as always. We cannot wait for our next visit to Jason’s. I highly recommend it.

The waiter didn’t seem to know what he was doing,he was young and yes everyone has to start somewhere but I think he needed a bit more training

Good value for money. Decor and ornaments are all over the place. A focus on style would pay off.

Maybe replace the fake flowers with real flowers on the table. Or have nothing. The whole experience is high class and standards but the fake flowers are noticeably cheap and tacky.

About the restaurant

A night at Jason's

Set on the beautiful Bradford Estate Winery, Jason’s Restaurant is a welcome a retreat from the buzz of everyday life. The menu is sourced and inspired by local produce and has a distinct classic edge. Think, rich venison pie, melt in your mouth beef cheek, silky kangaroo fillet risotto and gourmet pizzas. There are also beautiful desserts - the chocolate lamington is our particular favourite!

Grab a spot on the outdoor deck, order up a glass of vino and settle in for a good time!

Best dish: Millawa pork hoc with horseradish cream, Asian slaw & shaved crackle.
