A jewel in the suburbs. This restaurant is run by a husband and wife, he cooks, she attends to the customers. They are both so friendly and explained everything about the food and listened to what our needs were and catered to them. The place is small, but this affords personalized attention which is rare in restaurants these days. And the food was as good as they said it would be. Thanks to Jay and his wife for a delightful evening. We'll be back!
This is one of our favourite restaurants. Melt in in your mouth food run by the friendliest couple at an excellent price
The food is fine. The portion can be a bit more generous. There is lot of parking.
Everything was fantastic! The goat shank special was tender, the meat was falling off the bone! We had the goat curry, chicken curry and beef vindaloo, they were tantalising. The raita was incredible! Both Jay and Glenis were attentive and gracious hosts. We will be back!
Great home style cooking
An absolute gem! Jays service in a friendly and cosy atmosphere keeps us coming back to try his ever changing, delicious creations.
Any Curry Lovers, you must dine here and you will be definitely back too ... Second time I have dined there. Took one of my Besty’s Scott. Been raving about how their Food is divine! Jay told me, the Dishes all come from his Mother’s authentic Recipes. This is the first time when going, 3 months opened then. As I knew, Customer Service from Glenys and Jay would be 100% and was. Jay comes and greets you too, love when Chefs do this. Is a rare personal quality shown in small sized Restaurants. The Chicken and Lamb Shoulder In Curries so so TENDER with fall apart! The FLAVOURS ARE DIVINE! The Kitchen is an open one where you see the individual Dishes during Preparation. My Friend commented on as a compliment! Also with Takeaway Orders, bring your own Containers. I love they are Environmentally Friendly. A Niche all need to follow, worldwide too. Thank you Glenys and Jay for the lovely Evening with your hospitality towards Diners!
I enjoy having a meal there as I know I'm going to have an enjoyable night out with friendly service.
Great neighbourhood Indian option
We really enjoyed our Wedding Anniversary celebration thanks Jay - so special, even the music was perfect! Thank you very much......
Will definitely be returning to this gem. Jay and Georgia are so welcoming, a real personal touch, and the food was exactly as explained - dishes Jay's mum used to cook! All full of flavour, great value and BYO. Leave room for Grace's caramel slice as well!
What is there not to like about Jay's? Nothing! The food is great and the service, second to none even when he is busy. BYO containers is a fantastic idea!
Goat curry was to die for . . . yum
The food and service is always top notch at Jay's. You can tell he put so much effort and love into his cooking.
Quality of food was superb. Most certainly cooked with passion using fresh ingredients. Good selection and no too spicy. Loved the homemade chutneys. If you haven’t tried this neighborhood gem, don’t hesitate. You won’t regret it. You’re welcome ??
I read previous reviews and wanted to try this local Vic Park gem, super friendly family business all about the passion of food and cooking like "Mum did" we had the special starter, then into the goat curry and lamb shoulder all authentic so (dont expect westernised thickened with cream etc) Couldnt fit in the home made slice - did takeaway and BYO, super night thanks Jay
We have dined here several times and absolutely love it! The menu is full of really different things to try and we are always impressed with what we order.
Delicious food and lovely service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back again soon.
Our group of 8 all enjoyed dinner at Jays. Will definitely return. It was a little noisy last night, I guess that’s the price of popularity.
Thanks again Jay for a really special meal shared with our beautiful granddaughter visiting from Melbourne! Such a great and a happy evening........
