Ordered the scallop miso with rice which was very well cooked and flavoursome.
Awesome food, great quality, a lot of fun. Totally enjoyable experience!
Great vibe, great food, the chef was very caring and personable. A very rich gastronomical experience. We chose the Mastu, which has the wagu, scollops and lobster. It was all very fresh and tasty.
On entry everything appears fine, like a proper teppanyaki restaurant. We were guided to our table by well dressed, polite and friendly wait staffs. However, this is where things went downhill. The "chef" serving our table walked up to us and handed each of us an apron without saying a single word or greeting. As he started cooking, he just dumped everything onto the teppan. Chicken, salmon, shrimps and scallops all onto the same board together. Quality of food was appalling, don't expect any plating or decor what so ever. Food was serve not in any order per the menu, pretty much just whatever the chef feeled like putting on your plate. I ordered the Ran set for 99pp. I was served a flimsy slice of grilled salmon followed by salmon sashimi, then 3 pieces of overcooked scallops and chunks of bay bug meat drenched in soy sauce. The chef then walked away leaving the stove on, allowing everything on the hot plate to burn and smoke. We then watched in horror as the chef emptied a box of mixed vege onto the blackened and burnt teppan without even attempting to clean and scrape it first. Then comes the fried rice which was once again cooked on the burnt teppan. As he is cooking the rice and fried egg, more food ended up in the ditch than what was served in our bowl. It was an absolute disgrace to watch this much food gone to waste. The chef finally decided to make an attempt to clean the teppan by pouring a bit of water on it and scraped the charred bits off, but you can still see the board covered in burned sauce as he started cooking the steaks. Overall, at 99/pax it was an absolute waste of money. I have had teppanyaki set for under $30 which looked and tasted better than this. If you were drunk and got too much money to spent, then this place is probably reasonable. If you are looking for a decent dinning experience, then you best look elsewhere.
We were so disappointed in our night at Kabuki, we had heard such great things! Our chef ran late and as such the show component of our meal was limited and in the last 5 minutes of our setting. Our table watched the rest of the restaurant having lots of fun whilst ours was none existent. Afterwards we were given our dessert and told we had 5 minutes to eat it and leave as they needed the table back and “every second counts”. The food was nice but the bill was large so we had much higher expectations. We definitely wouldn’t return.
First time here with the family and we loved it. The place looks amazing, service was outstanding and food was delicious. Highly recommend this place!
I went to Kabuki- teppanyaki with a few staff members and we all really enjoyed it. service was super friendly, they messed up our wine twice but were so nice about it, it didn't matter, they offered new bottles. Food was delicious, great steak and seafood, perfectly cooked, not much vegies, but I guess its about the meat. Entertainment from the teppanyaki chef was really enjoyable. Overall, a great lunch out I'd definitely recommend it!
We love coming here for the quality of food and service but also the entertainment is fantastic. Highly recommended but be ready for the skills of catching eggs
Miguel was a fantastic host and made our night out wonderful. The food was terrific as was the atmosphere. We haven't laughed that much in ages. The kids enjoyed every minute.
Chef Miguel was a lovely character and fantastic chef! This rating would be improved by having 1 chef per grill to allow each chef to be more personal with their customers. 1 chef managing two grills is well within their capability but tarnished their presence on each side which is an important part of Tepenyaki.
OMG what an awesome experience. We are from out of town but Teppanyaki was a bucket list experience. The chef was a treat, entertaining and creative with his display. Will definitely recommend any time.
Fantastic the kids loved it
Great food with charming service The chef was very theatrical and engaged the young children sitting beside us Will definitely visit again to try something different
This was the second time we’ve dined at Kabuki, the first time was our 44th wedding anniversary last December and this time combined birthday & Father’s Day gift from our adult children. The chefs were very entertaining and made the evening very enjoyable and the food is delicious. We thoroughly recommend Kabuki
We were rather disappointed with the a la carte menu. The selection was very poor, with no sushi on the menu at all. And the dishes were very expensive for a Japanese restaurant. However, the service was good and the staff friendly.
Terrific time enjoying the food and teppanyaki experience. Food was great.
Great food, fantastic service and very friendly staff
Service was slightly slow - it started at 8:15pm but we had to wait outside until 8:30am. Half of our table had ordered and the other half hadn’t ordered and the waiters didn’t seem to notice. Food was yummy and overall an entertaining and fun night.
Great food and excellent service. My toddler dropped her water bottle and it was immediately picked up, washed in hot water and refilled with cold water. There was also another couple seated behind us who were complaining throughout the duration of their meal but (from what we could hear) this was handled very professionally by the staff. We have eaten at Kabuki several times over the past few years and will definitely be returning the next time we are in Brisbane.
Came here for my dad's birthday for something different and it was a lot of fun! The entertainment value was worth it!

Irrashai! Part of Brisbane’s Stamford Hotel restaurant selection, Kabuki offers a chance to watch your food cooked right in front of you – guaranteeing it’s fresh from the grill! You can choose from teppanyaki (grilled) meats, seafood or vegetables, or a combination of the three, with a number of set menu options available for either lunch or dinner. Our money’s on the Sakura, which includes local king prawns, jumbo Scallops, Black Angus beef fillet, with a range of accompanying sauces. Cleanse your palate with fresh sliced fruits or green tea ice cream. At dinner, you can choose from the premium Wagyu or deluxe seafood sets – the seafood comes with sushi and sashimi as well as grilled catch of the day. They also have an a la carte menu and a ‘Tiny Tepp’ for the tiny tots. The setting is certainly authentic with bamboo poles, paper lamps and rich red no-ren hanging cloths setting the mood. Best dish: Gyu Misoyaki (Grilled beef fillet medallions with sweet miso sauce)
