10/10It was such a lovely surprise to walk inside it was a proper French bistro in Balmain. The service was friendly and welcoming and the food was tasty and very French and filling. I had no idea from the outside how French it would be on the inside. Looking forward to coming back soon. A great addition to Balmain dining. ????

6/10We had high expectations of this place due to the reviews however I am extremely disappointed to hav elegy spending $139 for 2 people on 3 dishes mostly made up of potato and very little meat plus 2 glasses of wine. This place has so much potential but I cannot fathom paying almost $30 per dish for just potato! One of the dishes the potato pieces weren’t even cooked through they were a little on the undercooked side.

10/10Walking into this restaurant was like walking into a new discovery on a back street in Paris. The style, the feel, the ambience, the music, the menu… The sort of menu that makes you feel that, whatever you order, you can’t wait to get back there and try something else as well. One of the marks of a good restaurant is that the menu whets your appetite. That’s certainly the case here. And the food, when it arrives, doesn’t let you down. We shared the patê, had different mains and different desserts. Good grief, it was good. Check out the menu and see for yourself. Sydney needs places like this. Varied wine list, all of it elegant French drops (that we saw). (Sav Blanc is not always Kiwi passion pop.) it’s been open only 3 months, and there was no one else inside when we visited. I pretended I’d booked it that way. It’s just two partners, him in the kitchen, her out front. We’ve already booked again. Give it a go. It’s good.

9.5/10Great little French restaurant! Food is beautiful rustic fare, very well done. We enjoyed the charcuterie to start, followed by duck confit and tartiflette, with a great crème brûlée to finish. Looking forward to visiting again.

9/10L’Auberge is a great addition to the Balmain dining scene. It’s refreshing to have a credible French restaurant, a welcome change from the rest. Charming service and quality, authentic French cuisine. Stepping inside is like walking into a traditional French bistro in France. Well done.

10/10Provincial French rather than the usual. Very interesting menu. Made me want to go back and try them all. Homely atmosphere. Quieter than the usual racket.

10/10I've heard a lot of good reviews lately about that new restaurant in Balmain and as a French person living in the area, I decided to give it a go. It was just perfect, it feels so good to find good countryside dishes like my grandmother used to cook for us on Sunday lunch, here on the other side of the world. We'll come back for a dinner next time to really enjoy the cosy atmosphere.
