The food and the service in this restaurant is always excellent! We love the fusion of flavours that comes with every meal.

We often eat at Lá ao Fundo but last night was the best ever! We will be back there next week to taste the delicious fusion of flavours that this restaurant never fails to deliver!

The best restaurant we have eaten in whilst in Funchal, and that includes a ‘bib gourmande’ restaurant, food was incredible and so reasonable, we will return

Everything was right - from the setting to the attentive service to the imaginative and well cooked food. The house wines were good too. We ate there twice. We walked past a number of restaurants with staff trying to tempt people to dine - something we find annoying. No need for this at Lá ao Fundo. We were impressed by the waiters and also by the chef who same to speak to diners.

Fantastic food with a fusion of flavours and totally different from anywhere else in Funchal! The wine is also very good and the service exceptional!

Set away from the bottom of the cable car in Funchal, you have to walk past several other restaurants before you come to this place but it is worth it. The food and the service were excellent. We couldn't fault a thing. The menu is a spin on the usual sea food and local dishes and this is due to the family having connections to Mozambique and Goa. Highly recommended.

As always, we had an excellent meal with great service at La ao Fundo. The food is totally different from anything else you will find in Funchal which is such a refreshing change!

We just love this fusion restaurant and alway come back when in Funjal, this time three dinners in a row. Would never consider to go elsewhere. Booking is a must!

La Ao Fundo never fails to please! This is an amazing restaurant at the end of The Old Town and full of atmosphere! The food is stunning! Every dish is cooked with a fusion of flavours and a are unique to this restaurant. It makes a refreshing change from most of the others here, that seem to be offering much the same as each other.! On top of this, the wines are excellent and the service friendly and helpful. This restaurant is not expensive either! Congratulations Jamie and your team, we will return again soon.
