The restaurant was very cosy and quaint . Our waiter was very entertaining and steered us to some great specials. The food was outstanding. I look forward to going again.
It was a beautiful dining experience. The meal and drinks were delicious. Lovely atmosphere. Wait staff were attentive and prompt. Definitely recommend.
Loved the food and service. The only fault was the individual side dishes to the main meals were $10 each and were large serves. It would have been nice to be able to order a mixed vegie side dish (at a reasonable price) of 3 different vegies to have with a steak. The outside front of the building facung the main road needs some TLC, not very appealing.
This is a cute restaurant, understated yet quite expensive. On a Sunday evening, the restaurant was v busy and quite noisy. We were somewhat disappointed that they ran out of Scotch fillet by the time we ordered at about 7.30 pm ( early!), the pasta was quite average, despite the fast that it was meant to have truffle flavours (did it?), but the prawns with garlic (not on the menu, why?) were vv tasty. The service was very good so overall, a nice experience despite the defficiiencies mentioned above.
We are never disappointed when we dine here. The creme brûlée is to die for! It’s our one special night out whenever we come over from Perth. We love the house-cured meats, which we always start our meal off with.
Thank you La Luna for making our wedding anniversary so special. We arrived for dinner mid week and were treated with impeccable service and attention. The food was absolutely delicious, generous and fresh. Wine recommendation was spot on too. It was a special night thanks to La Luna five star service and food.
Enjoy going every year
Seemed to be a refreshed menu with the old favourites still on the menu. We enjoyed it. Really nice noisy Bistro vibe
Delicious steaks and the best service! Make sure you get the garlic prawns!
Excellent and we will be back
My favourite restaurant has been for years. I don’t know how they just keep getting better each vist
La Luna has been a great restaurant for a long time, however we have noticed some small slippage recently, small things like plates not being warmed meaning meals get cold, steak being served that isn’t warm enough to melt the cafe de Paris butter.
The food is wonderful and very consistent each time we go. For us this restaurant is great for special personal events every so often. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and staff are helpful and friendly.
Great, as always!
Had dinner with wife food was good. Just service a little disappointing. Table cloth was full of dirt and some sort of crumbs which no staff noticed. Also noticed after we ordered our meals all the other guests were explained the nights specials ,we were not advised of any specials which we found a little disappointing
The service is impeccable and the steaks just perfect.
Best steak l have had in a very long time. Definitely will be back
Food was terrific. Steak tartare is a must have. Only complaint is that the beer selection is a bit thin could do with more local craft beer. Service was exceptional and will definitely visit again. Highly recommend
Beautiful as always

A Meat Master
At this rustic-chic corner shop front restaurant, it’s all about meat. Chef and hands-on meat man Adrian Richardson's easygoing ways and nose-to-tail food philosophy are always on show at this much loved, long standing restaurant in Rathdown Village. Highly regarded for the quality of the house-aged beef, Richardson also offers a number of other tasty meats, many of which are hand made. From crackling wrapped pork, to generous lamb shoulders and house-made cotechino sausage, it’s clear Richardson has a real meaty skill. This lofty-ceilinged space with bentwood chairs and fence-wire chandeliers is a charming neighbourhood gem that’s perfect for a meat feast. Just don’t bring your vegetarian friends along. We’re not so sure they’ll approve.
