It was just such a pleasant day to sit on the verandah with a light breeze blowing enjoying a great meal with the love of my life on our 41st wedding anniversary. Nice an quiet with lots of time to enjoy the day.

Service was outstanding. The staff spoiled my mum on her birthday. Food was disappointing. The pastry on the onion and goats cheese tart was tough and really oily. Location is beautiful.

We chose an entree and desert for a light lunch. Both were delicious and the historic setting adds to the charm of this restaurant.

We had breakfast/brunch here for Mother's Day and really enjoyed the quaint setting. Staff were lovely, and the menu - whilst small - had some nice options.

About Lachlan's

Step back in time The first time you visit Lachlan’s you will wonder why you never knew about it before. This delightful eatery is set within Old Government House, and it is a charming chance to revisit an earlier, more refined era. Whether you are popping in for coffee and cake, enjoying a light café lunch on the vine covered terrace or trying the full a la carte menu, you are guaranteed to have a memorable experience. If you are going light, get the Ploughman’s Lunch with damper, cheese, pickles, chutney and a ramekin of soup, and if you are going for a more formal meal, don’t miss the seared kangaroo with grilled pepper potatoes and a caper and rosemary salsa. If you are looking to delight your loved one, try the Romance in History dinner for two, which gives you a specially-designed degustation menu with matching wines that is the perfect way to create a bit of your own personal history. Best dish: lemon and vodka tart
