From humble beginnings at the family owned Swan Valley winery to running venues across the state, Kate has spread her love of preparing fresh seasonal produce & pairing it with amazing wines from across the globe. Her greatest pleasure as a chef is knowing that guests have enjoyed the entire food & wine experience rather than leaving with the memory of a particular wine or dish.

Very nice lunch, Blue swimmer crab, crushed pea, lemon evoo, Shark Bay whiting, tempura, lemon and the Salmon carpaccio were wonderful. (Maybe better because Kate was cooking).

Excellent food. Small but varied menu with pricing options to suit your budget. Cosy enjoyable atmosphere. Very friendly and attendant staff (and owner). Whole family had an enjoyable and memorably Mothers day lunch. Will definitely look to eat there again in future.

Cocktail hour yet? Lamont’s Wine Store in Cottesloe is kinda like a wine bar, kinda like a bistro. While the emphasis here is on amazing wines, they certainly don’t skimp on the food. Their seasonal tapas menu gives you so much to choose from, you can complement your evening inebriant with fresh and seasonal foods from WA. Their starters really set the pace with gob-stuffers such as duck parfait and venison chorizos. And their tapas can be does as sides or as mains with seafood surprises like whiting, blue swimmer crab and grilled tiger prawns. Mouth-watering meats include crisped quail and a Chinese Szechuan style steak. Sorry? Oh right, the wine list. They’ve got the best local and international wines you could dream of, usually imported direct from Euro-cellars to be enjoyed at the bar or bought to take away. Lamont’s also does tasting events and private bookings for functions. Head over to Lamont’s early because they’re sure to keep you up late. Best dish: Black Angus pie
