Consistently one of the best. Food is simply fabulous. So many wonderful choices with great cocktails and wine. The service is attentive, fun without getting in the way of conversation.

Food was good but nothing spectacular. Disappointing that the dan dan noodles are not available for dinner. The special which was a scarlet prawn noodle dish was quite good but portions were very small. Loved the kingfish sashimi as an entree. Waiters were overall very friendly and helpful except for the bald male manager who seemed a bit pretentious.

The food is absolutely sensational. They pack in so much flavour to every dish. Servings are very generous and it’s great value, considering the quality of the food and the quantity. The service and atmosphere are great too. All in all it’s one of my fave restaurants.

Dined there a couple of weeks ago, food was excellent. Different story tonight, the lamb was coated in salt, way way too much, couldn’t eat it. Other meals and atmosphere was great though

A delicious lunchtime meal with a friend who is mostly a fish eating vegetarian. We shared four dishes - the highlight being the famous eggplant sticks. Good wine list too. A light airy space upstairs. Nice staff.

One of Melbourne's best Asian restaurants. The crispy fried eggplant is a must. Also the barramundi. Desserts divine. Small but good wine list.

About the 5th time I’ve been here. Great for social and business dinners and excellent for date-night. Originally came for the name (a lyric in a song which gained my interest) but returned for the food and atmosphere.

We didn't expect the food is this good and full of surprise. The fried rice has unconventional taxture, extremely delicious. The most impressive dish to us is actually the roast duck, juicy and tender, best duck I had ever. Love this restaurant and certainly will be back again.

Just disappointed that I didn’t get to try the roast duck my friend raved about. Didn’t know I had to prebook it ahead of time Other than that, it’s an interesting contemporary Chinese cuisine

About the restaurant

It is thought that in the late 1800s, one in every three Australian cooks was of Chinese descent. Try naming a rural town that doesn’t have a Chinese restaurant… can you? Lee Ho Fook takes that long entrenched tradition of Chinese cuisine in Australia and thrusts it into the modern era with creative dishes like Chong Qing style chicken crackling or ‘Typhoon Shelter style tofu’.

The name, Lee Ho Fook, means ‘good fortune for your mouth’ and it won’t take you long to figure out why. With a personal touch to each meal, the restaurant prides itself on being ‘new style Chinese’. Another thing to be proud of is the Good Food Guide hat, which it has now held for several years.

Take a stroll down this Melbourne laneway and let Victor Liong and his team show you some new ways with your favourite Chinese food.
