Meet the Chef

Chef Josh Kim’s career boasts some of the best venues in Sydney, including Bert’s and Queen Chow in Newtown, Papichulo in Manly, Sokyo in Pyrmont, and Mr Wong in Sydney. During his career he has been closely aligned with some of hospitality heavyweight Merivale’s best brands, working across many Asian fusion menus. Josh moved to Adelaide with his family in 2018 to take the role of Head Chef at Electra House Hotel, and brings with him a passion for bold Asian flavours and local produce.

    It’s one of the best restaurants in Adelaide for fusion Asian food. The taste is mainly Thai, a bit of Japanese /Korean, and Chinese. The most impressive dish tonight was the Tom Yum Vegetables with udon. The spicy level is moderate, very acceptable to us who are not used to spicy food that is authentically Thai.

    Outstanding flavours combinations, inventive. We had Omakasa (?) i.e. chef's selection, and each dish was delicious but each in different ways. Service is friendly,casual and attentive but not pervasive. This was our second visit and it was as good as the first. Highly recommended.

Located on the first floor of Electra House Hotel, Level One is our award-winning Modern Asian shared plates restaurant.

A truly unique dining experience, our informed yet informal dining style compliments the creative menu filled with bold flavours and South Australian produce crafted by our Head Chef Josh Kim.

Feast on a few plates with your friends while you enjoy a bottle from our locally sourced wine list, or why not let our team feed you with one of our chef-selected Omakase menus?

Level One is open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm and for lunch on Fridays. Available for private hire seven days a week.
